Unless something changes, this will really be the first time in SSE's history that they'll do a refurb without a sponsor...who knows what that will look like!

maybe that's why siemens dropped sponsorship they thought it would be earlier and didn't want to sponsor a closed attraction

I wonder if there are any plans to add more to the descent than that stupid choose your future cartoon?

A full refresh, including good descent, would be welcome, but they have a history of running out of money for this ride so I have no faith in Imagineering to deliver something of quality based on past performance.

I get the feeling that TDO is opening up the wallet for a lot of items in EPCOT to freshen it up. It doesn't seem to be unlimited, but it definitely feels like the have a plan and the finances to rebuild almost everything in FW. I think current management knows that this park is a bit embarrassing and they have a fight on their hands with Universal.

They really need to remove the interactive screens and choose your future cartoons on the ride vehicles. Horizons did it much better!


At least the exit still has the screens.

Good news on this refurb, so far. I'm here for it. But I've learned again not to get too excited, lol. But so far it sounds promising I suppose.

I'd be fine with a new Cumberbatch narration but I also think some other British voices would suit it well.

Seems like it will be mostly the same. If plans don't change. Perhaps a new ending. Time will tell.

We need something that takes us beyond the Gates/Jobs/Woz scene, a mind blowing 180 top and a grand descent giving us a wrap up of the past leading into future possibilities. That, a grand score, and a new narration. Anything else would be a missed opportunity, IMO.

There's a specialized crane in the room with the wooly mammoth projection. That's the only point where they can install and remove vehicles because an elevator access point is right there. It actually takes a few hours at a time. It's a very intensive process.
