I'll report if we're able to ride SSE when we arrive in 8 more days!!! :xmas:

LoriMistress, I watch your posts to keep up with how many days for me. I am so excited to go and have already started packing. We are heading over a day early as a birthday present to me so I am on your trip countdown now. I would be so happy if SSE would let me preview while we are there. It is one of my faves.

What do you think the chances are it will be open (soft or otherwise) during marathon time? We'll be there Jan 10-14. How cool would it be to finish the run then get on SSE right after?? Well, for me anyway. I'll be sure to go heavy on the deodorant and get some body spray for everyone else.

Yay! Happy 40th Birthday to me, i'll be there from the 12th to the 18th. Here's hoping i can ride on my birthday on the 17th. YEE HAAAAH!
Hello, fellow SW PA - we're from Waynesburg! We'll be there from the 15-21st. Where are you staying? I would LOVE to stumble on a SSE soft opening while we are there that week before Christmas. As we plan on spending the majority of our time in Epcot (DD's favorite park) maybe we'll get lucky!

I am hoping for a soft opening the week of the 9th. We (my wife and our 6 kids) are leaving one week from today!!! We are not telling the kids until we get to the airport. Getting them out of school early to make our flight. We have concocted a story about having to rush to my mothers house to help her. I never realized how hard it was not to spill the beans and ruin the suprise....Any way I hope we can ride SSE while we are there.

I was thinking the same thing. We will be there from the 7th till the 15th & celebrating my 42nd B'Day on the 14th. That would be GREAT!!! :sohappy:

We'll be at EPCOT on December 27 for the last time for a few years (first baby on the way in Feb), so here's hoping we'll get lucky.

Me and my dad already have two upcoming trips. One already made for Jan. and one pending for Feb. So hopefully, and Im feeling rather optimistic about this, I should be able to see them on one or both of those trips. Now if they had a TSM preview in Feb, I'd be really happy.

Wouldn't it be safe to assume that they would be taking down the refurb walls before any potential soft opening? Maybe we can watch for that as an early indicator.

I did think it seemed awfully weird that they would have all the signage and everything up and ready to roll so far ahead of Feb... Usually that's about the last thing they get around to.

But Merf - Didn't you also say recently that you saw the cars and they didn't look like they were anywhere near being ready yet? I seem to recall you saying that.

actually, i dont think they would take that stuff down. I see this preview as an opportunity for the imagineers to fix things in the ride before february. The walls will probably still be up, and CM's will probably lead the chosen ones either through the exit, or through a special door.

I could be wrong, but i dont think this is a "ride ready" preview. I think its more of a "lets make sure we get this right" preview.

That's great news! SSE is one of my absolute favorites and I can't wait to ride it again. I've got a three-day trip starting Feb. 1, so I was holding my breath on this. :sohappy::sohappy:

I was there yesterday and the construction walls were still up however the construction crew seemed to be in really good spirits. They were chanting someones name as I went by and laughing and carrying on from behind the walls. One of them came out the door and I tried to peek in but I really couldn't see anything. I will be back at Epcot on the 19th so hopefully maybe I will get the chance to ride it.

Here's to hoping it will be open during my trip (December 12-18). I would LOVE to get a chance to see it! SSE is my favorite attraction at WDW.
