Spaceship Earth DVD

A few weeks ago, I was surfing around for different Disney DVD's and I found one on Spaceship Earth. Apparently, it had the different incarnations of the ride, including the most recent one with Jeremy Irons and the one before that. I was interested in it and thought about buying it, but I didn't do it at the time.

Problem is, now I can't remember where I found it. If anyone else knows where to find the site for this DVD, can you direct me to the site? And for anyone who may have purchased this DVD, how was the quality? I don't want to buy another piece of crap product like I did with those "Relive the Magic" DVDs. :lookaroun

I know extinct-attractions-club.com has a lot of good DVD's. I don't have their Spaceship Earth one, but their Communicore one has the Walter Cronkite version of SSE

Or you could go to Mousebits and download Martin's videos of it for free. They're incredibly high quality...oh, and they're FREE. He does it for the love of the Parks and the attractions, not to make a fast buck. Did I mention his are free (as are all the others on that site)?

The Spaceship Earth dvd really is great, I highly recommend it, especially now since the new ride is so botched, you can relive the last version and ones before it. Very good quality and sound, and if you get the 2 disc edition, you get all kinds of different angle shots and several ride through versions. Its a keeper.
I dont have the heart to watch right now though with all the fuss about the new version going on it would just make me dislike the new one even more I think but do try and purchase it. Im glad I did.

As stated above, Martin's videos are great (and free).

However, Jeff Lange puts out some great DVD packages and his SSE DVD is top notch. His are the only ones I think are worth purchasing.

Can you give me the website where you found it? I just checked extinct attractions club and didn't see it there.

Nevermind...after searching around a little more, I found it, and ordered it.

I know I can view some of this stuff for free, but I'm one of those old school type people who prefers to have something tangeable to hold in my hand and pop in the DVD player. And I don't want to do all my watching here in a wood chair in front of the computer. I'd much rather put it in the DVD player and sit in my recliner in front of a television set. :D

Just curious, how long does it take to download something from Mousebits?

I'm not an expert, but I've downloaded several cool things (including Martin's videos). The speed of download depends on several factors, such as your own internet speed, the size of the file, and the number of peers you are downloading from (more peers usually = faster download speeds).

In the forums section of the site, there are tutorials and such for newbies to get the hang of it.

There are some real gems over there - I highly recommend it!

While we're on this topic, does anyone know where to get audio of Vic Perrin's original narration? I know I found (at least part of) it on a podcast somewhere but can't recall where

Victoria

Not old, just vintage.

I consider myself fairly comp literate, but I can't get the videos and such to work for the life of me! :brick:

why so afraid? mousebits is a closed tracker so only members can download .. (but becomeing a member is very easy just register).. all files are checked and most of the time are video and audio files so they can't contain viruses or trojans.

Just curious, how long does it take to download something from Mousebits?

as said before depening on the peers, your speed can range from 1kb/s to 1,5mb/s

I consider myself fairly comp literate, but I can't get the videos and such to work for the life of me!

thats what I heard so often .. but when I guide peeps through the process (wich is basicly installing the client and click on the torrent link) they were surprised how easy it is

That's way more than this computer illiterate hillbilly knows how to do.

there are so many programs you just have to drag your video files on and they do the rest .. it's as easy as posting to a forum :D

Spaceship Earth 1982 Perrin by Martin :animwink:

-at Mousebits :D

Jeff Langes videos are very good quality; if you HAVE to buy a video, I`d recommend his over any others.

Failing that, download and burn if you want to watch it on the big screen. It`s not that hard.

Ok I joined mousebits.com, easy peasy. But I cant get any of the audio files to play because its something called a torrent? I tried to download the reflections of china score by trying to just open the file and play or saving the file and then trying to play, but I keep getting a message that says Windows can not play because it is not recognized. So I dont know how to get these to work. To be honest I dont know anything about torrents, is there some special player or something I need to download from somewhere first? I want to play these so bad. help help.
thanks.

this tiny *.torrent file does not contain any sort of playable data (no 30min 1080p parkmovie could fit 30kb :D) those are only index files, showing where to get the actual file ..

get a torrent client, like azureus(google it) and the doubleclick the torrent file(s) (by then they have turned to a little blue frog, so you see the filetype is now known as a torrent file). azureus will come up and asks you where to save the torrent file to .. after you chose a download folder it will start downloading the file(s) from peers (the users of mousebits) after the file is finished you can play the file from your chosen download folder, but please leave azureus open so other peeps can download the file(s) from you

it's that easy

sorry I don't have that file(I wonder why) so I can't seed it but cougerAC is seeder and he is on FIOS so you should stay patient and leave it running for a while speeds will go up for sure
