As sad as it is, I just recently figured out that that is the same narrator as for the Universe of Energy Kinetic Mosaic pre-show, as well as for one of the EPCOT Center preview films. :hammer:
Thats' funny because my version of Spaceship Earth will be narrated by Patrick Stewart and when I re-do Universe of Energy I am going to have Judi Dench narrate because she is a great narrator and I think needs to be given an intelligent script and to make up for the disaster of Spaceship Earth. Also can you guys post a link to Martins 82 -86 version?

I am registered! Unfortunately, I have to work all three mornings, but I definitely want to show up Friday and Sunday evenings. I'm a little torn about Saturday, as I really want to go to EPCOT with everybody, but really don't want to miss out on Pleasure Island's last night!

As for Vic Perrin, I watched Martin's Spaceship Earth 1982-1986 video for the first time the other day, and went nuts trying to figure out where I'd heard that voice before. Imagine my surprise when I realized it was from right next door!

Awww - bummer you have to work! Sheesh! :(:(:( I don't think I can stomach PI's last night! You are a lot younger than I, man.:lol: I'll be in bed when the action is happenin. :lookaroun I'm sure I'll see you around - you'll recognize Tom but I have brown hair now FYI - soooo - come say Hi if you see us.

I honestly don't think Dench's Script is bad...The only thing that bothers me is the ABC/Taxes line. The rest is delivered and written VERY well...180 Top gives me that wonderful "This is EPCOT Center" feeling.

Honestly...I am really beginning to like this new SSE'07.It has flaws, but I think it is pointing a new relaxed, but focused future for EPCOT.

Why don't you like it?Just wondering...:)

That really is the most terrible part of the whole script. :hurl: I really don't like her voice at all. :( Meh.

I don't need to talk about the ending. Judi Dench's script makes me feel like I am being talked down to. Phrases like Rome built the first World Wide Web and Call it the first backup System makes me feel like they think Im' stupid. Let alone how those statements are inaccurate. My Script is similar to the Irons script

Like I've mentioned in the past, I think the perfect female narrator for Spaceship Earth would be the chick who did The Seas pre-show film at The Living Seas.

In all respect...But Irons kinda had those analogies too..."1st Information Highways" comes to mind. And in regard to the new ones...Eeeh.They have grown on me.Not as verbose and stunning as Irons...But they fit the newer theme.

I would describe mine as a mix between Cronkite' Irons and Dench. As for the Living Seas Narrator no one would recognise her but people like us.

Really?

I find her much more soothing...Irons was the paramount of course, but kinda edgy.Cronkite/Perin were kinda textbooky IMHO.:lookaroun:shrug:

I loved Irons - :) - but it is OK for a boy to like a girl narrator and a girl to like a boy narrator.

Yeah she had a nicer voice. I would have perferred an American accent just because that's where we are  - kind of makes sense - but if they wanted a british lady why not the woman that played Emma Peel on the Avengers? :lookaroun

The script isn't bad, except for those few lines, it is just such a shame after the pure poetry of the Irons narration. The 180top bit is totally uninspired.

I will consider accent choosing as part of my version.:animwink:
