I am so glad I got to see this, anyways I just got on the peoplemover or the Transit Authority with my friends, when next thing you know we pull into Space Mountain there's something different: THE LIGHTS ARE ON, were like what in the world, it was the weirdest thing to see Space Mountain with lights, they were trying to fix the ride I guess, this was lifetime chance, and I got to see it, O YEA AND SPECTROMAGIC WAS GREAT LAST NIGHT:lol:

I was in line one time and right before getting on the lights came on. Well -- a half hour later, they started running the ride again but with the lights on. Talk about taking all the fun out of it.

Are you kidding? Riding Space with the lights on is the scariest thing EVER! When it's dark you can't see how CLOSE those beams pass over your head... :lookaroun

Amen to that. Ever since I have been on Space with the lights on I have ALWAYS listened to those safety warnings about keeping your hands in the car.

Now, if you want to take the fun out of a ride you need to ride Pirates and the Haunted Mansion with the lights on.

My husband and I had just got on space mountain and we stopped right were you go into the tunnel. A CM came over and told us that it would be a little bit, because some guy had dropped his eyeglass case and it had all his money and credit cards in it. So they went and got it for him, but we had to wait and didn't even get to see it with the lights on because we were stuck in the tunnel. They turned the lights off before we started going again.:(

i hate when the lights are on!i remember one time we got stuck right after the main lift where the 2 trains go sperate ways and we were right on top and they had to turn the lights on,i was freaking out cause i thought i would be decapitated by the poles

I am most definitely glad I first rode SM with the lights OFF - had I seen it with the lights ON, I'd never have taken that first ride!

Space Mountain has all the warnings telling you to keep your hands inside the vehicle for a reason. ;)

But by that logic there should be a maximum height to ride it. Besides who ever reads signs anyway, youll only find out things that you didnt want to know and cant then plead ignorance:hammer:

The beams are set to a certain height so that you don't get you hands cut off. Keep your arms and legs in the cart is just a way of saying don't let your arm dangle so they don’t get run over. The beams look low to provide an optical illusion of speed and danger the same thing happens on Big Thunder Mountain. If you asked every one here someone would say they rode with there hands up the whole time. I rode with them up 50% of the time and I still have all my fingers.

I don't know... I rode Space Mountain one time, with my hands up, and something skimmed the top of my middle finger enough to make me not do that again. It didn't really hurt, just scared me. I figured, id I had out them at a diffrent angle... bye-bye hand. Lol. Then I rode it with the lights on...not fun. It was at a castmember party type of thing, that my brother went to, and took me. It looks like you're going to hit your head on the beams above your head.
