Are you serious?:lookaroun:lol:

Lee's picture really shows movement...

Lee's photos don't show any movement. The tree in the foreground of the night photo is the second tree back in the daytime photo. It's in the same position in both photos. That's the "stuck" tree whose leaves are partially folded, and the trunk is slightly retracted downward. (It's noticably shorter than the others)

Until I saw that exhibit in DC, I also thought that the trees actually moved and had just never seen them.

The trees never actually moved. They were designed the way they are to LOOK as if they folded in and retracted down at night. One was specifically designed as being in the "half folded" position so that it would appear that they did actually fold and one got stuck.

I saw the original concept artwork at the "Architecture of Reassurance" exhibit when it was at the National Building Museum in D.C., and the notes by the Imagineers specifically stated that's the intention. I have an accompanying book for the exhibition here somewhere, I'll see if I can dig it up and see if that concept artwork was in it, or in the Imagineering book.

That is a really cool story

The "stuck" tree has no "coconuts".

Ahhhhhhhhhh.... I see it. Very interesting...I kind of like that one is different. Adds a organic feel to something that isn't.

Very interesting detail, I'll have to look for this next MK venture.

Not shopped. They actually do that....at least they did....
And yeah...one of them has some issues. Imagine that...

Yep, what he said. I'm pretty sure they moved over a slow period of time. Except for the one that's purposely broken to allude that not everything is perfect in the future. (X-S Tech)

Great detail, but I always thought it was kind of a grim message in an otherwise hopeful retro future.

Still cool though...

Well, I really don't expect everything to be perfect in the future...

:veryconfu Looks like a "sidewalk/path" running to the left of the "planter/fountain," with space between the two. Hmmm.

Can't someone just yell down to those dudes: "Hey! whatcha building?" lol

I am wondering if the video arcade will look the same when the mountain reopens or if it will get remodeliong (I hope its a remodeling). From what I remember the current version is this enormous room with just a few shirt racks and 2 arcade machines in the back (one of them with a rather tasteless hip hop mickey mouse and goofy image)
