Also add me to the classic list!
You mean that vintage 1970s vision of the future? Ewww.Exactly, it is very good-looking, but it certainly doesn't fit in with the classic vintage theme of the future that Tomorrowland at MK and DL has
You've kinda got it backwards. SM and Discoveryland in Paris is themed to a Victorian version of the future. Way more vintage and classic than the US Tomorrowlands. Nothing contemporory or modern about it.SM in Paris has a more contemporary, modern style that (while I do enjoy it) wouldn't fit IMO
I know a closure hasn't been announced yet but will this "recoating" require them to close SM for any amount of time? Or will it mostly be done when the park is closed at night?

Heck, they could do it during the day and not affect the guests - except visually. No closure necessary.

I'm sure it does, but I was saying that we shouldn't get it everywhere :shrug:SM Paris looks absolutely incredible in person. The photos even don't do it justice. It has to be one of the best looking park attractions anywhere.
I would hope not and don't really think so. If it did, however, I'd need to know so I can cancel my upcoming January trip.
Add me to the classic list...but Paris is pretty neat looking...
Meh... the exterior of Paris' Space Mountain, while incredible, is screaming the 1800s, Jules Verne look, with lots of faux wrought-iron trimmings and a giant cannon that is supposed to launch riders into space. It's perfectly themed to the surrounding Discoveryland, which has a completely different theme from WDW's Tomorrowland, in that it's supposed to be Steampunk.

In other words, it wouldn't really fit MK's Tomorrowland at all. MK's Space Mountain is ultra-modernist, with solid white and simple geometry, and therefore suited MK's original Tomorrowland perfectly. The challenge is how to theme it to the current comic book/1930s-style Tomorrowland without completely disrupting the look of what is arguably one of the most iconic structures of WDW. I'm with those that say adding the nighttime lighting projection package... although I think adding some neon blue lighting around the rings or towers on top would look really classy, and fit the Tomorrowland theme really well.
