Not controversial, just nothing much to report. Upto now a minor refurb and retheme. No bubble cars or anything.

Did I mention during a 101 you can see the supports all marked with spray paint where they will be cut? Let me see...

Very cool, and it certainly makes this rehab "real" (as real as a scheduled rehab can be, at least :)). I must say, I am really psyched about this one. Having been on DL's re-done Space Mountain, I am looked forward to a "freshened-up" MK Space for sure :sohappy:

Thanks for the info, Martin and Lee!

This is looking very promising. I cannot wait to see and exerience the final product. Here's hoping there are no budget cuts and WDI can go all out on this. :)

Geez, I'll have no reason at ALL to go into Tomorrowland during this refurb!!

You're not kidding! Don't get me wrong, i'm glad SM/TTA are getting some well deserved attention, but this really renders TL useless for me for about 14 months.

I think I'll miss the sounds and kinetics of the TTA more than anything, to be honest. Just watching it go by, hearing the announcements, etc. adds so much to that area...

This is the one ride Disney should never cut corners on. It is the most iconic and important attraction of any of Disney's parks. I'm hoping they give WDI everything they are asking for. It will pay dividends for many many years! :)

I know what you are saying and I agree. That is the saving grace of that area. But it will all be worth it in the end.

I hope they push it back a week because I am checking in on the 8th & I really don't want to have to race over to MK just to get to ride it one more time before it goes down...but if I have to then I have to! SM is worth it, I just have to get back to AKL for dinner at Jiko later that night! Run Forrest Run :ROFLOL:
We had to do that for BTMRR on our September-October trip b/c it closed for refurb our second day there.

It'll just be replaced by the sounds and kinetics of construction and Imagineers walking the track, as well as the hustle and bustle of hundreds of devoted Disney fans waiting for a possible soft opening of a ride that's never had a line and that they've been on thousands of times, so that they can possibly get a sneek peek of an unopened new-Space Mountain, the irony being that with all the flashes of cameras reflecting on the glass, nobody will really see anything new even though there will be tons of blurry pictures, videos, and overly long podcasts describing the possible changes to another ride that has yet to open yet, even though they've also been on that one hundreds of times, which they too will wait for a possible soft opening just a few short months after the fact, which they also take pictures and videos, and also make another overly long podcast about.

wow I didn't know this was happening - I'd best make sure I get 1 last mission in next month when I'm there. I like the current version but the refurb details do look good, if it all goes to plan I look forward to the revised version :).

I really wish they would make it longer. Like if they do cover the que, they could use all that space above it. if they kept the original layout, than at the end, launched you into a new section for a longer ride time, that would be fantastic.

It just seems like such a waste of such a big building. If they're going to close it for so long, and they open it with basically the same ride, people will probably be angry.

But then again, most people probably won't notice a difference.

I really think the ride is more than long enough. Either way, it's not going to happen. Also, for the same amount of people that would be angry that it didn't change much, I think more people will be happy that the classic ride remains intact but is now much more enjoyable.

I just hope they do not make the outside look goofy like the one in DL paris... I bet they will theme it a little like the main street of Tomorrowland!!! shiny and new

I wonder how this will effect the TTA-blueline ?

i wondered the same thing,my first guess would just tarp off the SM section..but thinking about it now yea TTA could use a bit of an overhaul,im getting a bit tired of the speal lol,if they do give it a minor facelift hopefully it wouldnt be lengthy :lookaroun
