As of yesterday, they are still using the alternative exit around the back. No update on what's going on in the old exit itself.

As of last Saturday, I saw the exit from the Peoplemover and it did appear to be worked on. There was some minor equipment in the area, but the speedramp scenes are all still 100% intact and even turned on. I wonder why it's taking them this long to replace a speedramp...

Maybe they are trying to get in touch with Goodyear to figure it out..That's the reason that walkway was made since they were earlier sponsers..

The moving walkway is being removed. Other minor changes but mainly the moving walkway is what is going to be missing when done.

Think it has to do with cost of upkeep. The moving walkway is constantly breaking down, cheapest and easiest thing to do is just remove it and make people walk.

They are relocating it to Indiana Jones in DL. That sucker needs a moving walkway. Feels like hiking from MK to the Grand Floridian.

Those stock buybacks, management bonuses, and other divisions don't just pay for themselves, you know. Maintenance is further down the priorities list.

If what the above poster said is true and it is being removed because of frequent breakdowns, I don’t get it. You can see the same type systems at airports all over the place that see tons of traffic and use, but seem to work. Granted, the SM one has angles other than horizontal to work around, but it’s still just a big rubber loop, some roller wheels, and a drive motor.

Are you sure? It seems like that would be an awfully long time between the implementation of the ADA and the removal of the speed ramp.
