Isn't this the same thing that happened with the Haunted Mansion? Did no one learn from that experience?

No. At Disneyland someone had a gun on the ride and shot the glass. There’s only a single hole though. It didn’t shatter. It’s covered by a small spider web that you can still look for and find to this day. I saw it on my last trip.

On the Main St to Marceline tour they told us in MK HM there is a spare piece of glass in the show building still in it's packing that has never been opened.

I heard the glass caused cracks in the foundation, and the entire building will need to be taken apart to fix it. Now looking at another year or two before it opens, unless they decide they can live without the glass and put up a disco ball instead. /s

Its located in the space behind the doom buggy between the ballroom and the attic. (When we did a walking tour it was suprisng how much of the sets are back-to-back and how much of the show building is actually empty!)

That is where the maintenance bay is located. That’s not where the spare glass is.

Yeah, they used to do energy and Great Movie Ride. Looking at the events/meetings site it doesn't look like they have any more in-ride venues left.
