Sounds Dangerous + Idol = new attraction?

I agree with several of the other posts here. Shut down AIE with SD and add what the park needs, more family rides! Muppets, Star Wars, Indy, whatever. TSMM is the only actual family ride in the park and the lines are outrageous if you don't have a FP.

I like the idea of a new Muppet ride. However, I'm not so sure this is the place to put one. It would make more sense if it was placed closer to Muppet3D. As for removing the American Idol Experience, I just don't see it happening in the next couple of years. Disney put a lot into this space just to ditch it after a couple of years. I agree with most people on this forum, the show isn't the greatest(and the reward isn't appealing). But from a business standpoint, and knowing how cheap Disney can be, I wouldn't look for anything new in place of the American Idol Experience.

Ok...I got my flame retardant suit on so here is my idea (LOL)! :

How about re-opening the space as "Rick's Café Américain" from the movie Casablanca. You could attach a dark ride that is a tribute to classic WWII movies that you enter via the club / restaurant in a way similar to Pirates at DL. Additionally the club could be staffed and rigged using props and actors similar to the Adventurer's Club.

Ok...now I'll take off my armchair imagineering hat and put my flameproof suit helmet on...have at!

I love that idea.

But I'm all for something Star Wars or Indy related going in there or bringing back something similar to Superstar Television. Or better yet, how about a giant AC :D

I thought from the moment I heard about the AIE attraction that is was likely a bad move seeing as how the tv show was already losing steam and it would e hard to draw alot of people consistently in there (to watch and/or sing).

I hope Disney is learning some lessons from this....while I think Disney could do some awesome things with avatarland I have a bad feeling about this one as well.

Disney needs to do what they did several years ago in that each park gets some major attraction...I think the answer for animal kingdom is add disneysea into it and then build a place for world of color for a night show as well

Studios needs more rides and please god undo and redo the great movie ride to all Disney movie classics which would be a hit

Epcot needs an Ellen's change and maybe another country or 2 with rides

I agree one thousand percent. Studios needs some major help. Turn Sounds Dangerous and Idol into a family dark ride (The park needs one bad) and turning the great movie ride into a disney movie theme would amazing, it is time to elminate all remaining remnants of MGM.

So um... we recorded an episode of our show called Armchair Imagineering: Restaurant Ideas. It's what we've dubbed an emergency show - something to be released when we can't get together to record. We discussed more or less the exact same idea.

You hear that Disney - classic movies are still cool.

What Hollywood Studios needs is another thrill ride to help easy Toy Story Mania so i say install a Monsters Inc. roller coaster into those buildings

I havent seen Sounds Dangerous in I dont know HOW long. It was terrible. American Idol never interested me. I think I may way watch the first 2 weeks of the show because of the funny/bad auditions. Now my wife is a HUGE Idol fan and not once has she wanted to see it in HS. I have asked her every trip, because I know how much of a fan she is, and she says No every single time. It will slowly dwindle and it will close I am sure. What they put there, even if they combine both attraction sites, is beyond me. But that space, although pretty big, is the least of the worries at HS. They need a LOT more. As many times as we go to Disney, it wasn't till our trip this fall where I said "Wow, this park really is small." And it has some of my favorite attractions,(ToT especially) which makes me go 2-3 times a trip, we are usually only there for a few hours the days we go. There is a lot of wasted space and dated material at HS. So many things they could do too. I am not rushing anything. They are doing big things to MK and soon at AK. So obviously HS and/or Epcot will get some updates soon. It's only a matter of time. We still enjoy going every time, and nothing ever bothers us on our trips. Our next trip will be next Fall, so I'm crossing my fingers that Beast and/or LM are open... even if its a soft opening. I think they will. They seem to be ahead of the game.

HS definitely needs Star Wars area expanded. Pixar area could definitely be expanded (and I think will in time). It just needs at least 2-3 more rides right now and maybe 1-2 new shows. NOT PnF.

Epcot definitely needs updates too. Ellens ride, Imagination pavilion needs an overhaul and maybe 1 more thing. At least that I can think of now.

I think a big thing people aren't looking at... Disney needs a new Water Park on property. Really helps out the crowds at the regular parks, especially peak seasons. 2 just isn't enough. I have a tough time waiting in a line forever for a 10 second water slide.

Regardless, these things don't bother me though. And obviously doesn't exactly bother many people on here. Because we all still go lol.

i think that they could put a yellow submarine movie thing in there. have it a mix between beatle animatronics and 3d video. but thats just what i would do.

I'd love a monster's inc coaster however Phineas and Ferb would be pretty awesome too. However I see them putting a stage show before an actual ride. Doug was where AIE is now, could be. Time will tell.

Anything added at this point in the game is better than AIE and SD. There is nothing redeemable or impressive about either of those attractions.

Given it's proximity to Indy and Star Tours, it's more likely to be a Lucas related attraction to build up a potential "Lucas-land"

"Lucas-Land" is just a silly fanboy dream made up on the forums. I doubt there is a serious plan at Imagineering to develop more Lucas attractions (though I would love to see more).

No, they need a family attraction to help Toy Story Mania. They upgrade a thrill ride (Star Tours) and it didn't effect Toy Story at all. The issue with Toy Story is similar to what happens over at Peter Pan's Flight. The capacity of the attraction was too low considering the lack of a height requirement and the appeal of the attraction. It's exaggerated in DHS because it's really the only completely family friendly ride in that park.

I would love it, but Lucas doesnt give his properties away cheaply. The licensing fees are enormous.

They've got a solution for that sitting in their archive of unbuilt rides...Muppet Movie Ride...Seriously, if they pulled out all of the stops, it would be wildly popular.

I'd love to see that - honestly though, I think part of the problem is that if they build an efficient Family Friendly Ride it doesn't really solve the problem either. What needs to happen is a marquee family friendly attraction whose demand far exceeds capacity. Over at DCA, Soarin' and Toy Story Mania exist in the same park. They could add Fastpass to Toy Story in DCA and there's no way it runs out as quickly as it does in DHS. Part of that is less guests in that park, Part of it is more popular attractions in that park, but another part is two high demand attractions competing with one another.
