Someone else using magic band for parking?

We are pass holders. I know that no one could use my magic band to enter the park, but what about to use my magic band for my free parking benefit? The only reason I can see how this might be an issue is if my name/age pops up when they scan it and the person using it does not look my age.

So you join a public forum, and your first post is to ask how you or a friend can cheat Disney?

In all honesty...it's going to be hit or miss. I have driven through to park and the CM has actually scanned my MB and asked me to show ID on some occassions, others they have just scanned and waved me through and I've gone through without having my MB scanned at all and just getting waved through.

I think it really depends on the CM and how busy it is. Sadly there is no consistency which opens up people to try and cheat the system.

When we've gone with friends who don't have a pass and they have to ride separately from us, we meet up somewhere outside the gates (usually the McDonald's), my wife hops in their car and then we drive through without issue.

I'd suggest to prevent anything from happening to you that you do the same...or give your friends the $20 needed to park.

My family of four have annual passes and when we go with a group that does not have them we split up and someone with a pass rides in the other car and uses their band to get through the plaza.

Your passes are not for use by someone that doesn't have them. You are still cheating Disney.

Ok let's try this again one more time... I am a pass holder and so is my wife. I drive through the toll plaza in one car and use MY band that is on my wrist. My wife is in the car behind me and she uses her band that's on her wrist to get in. Please tell me what is wrong with doing this? As I said before parking is included with each pass sold.

So...if you got to Disney with a friend or group of friends in one car and they don't have passes...are you going to make one of them pay to park?

Lol I guess the next time I go with people that don't have annual passes and use my band to park I'm going to have to collect money from each of them lol

I usually agree with you on things like this, but I believe you're wrong on this one. Assuming the AP rules are similar to the cast member rules, there's nothing wrong with what @sean4066 and his family do. I used to visit with cast members all the time when I lived in Florida and their free parking privilege was always honored, even if they were passengers in the vehicle. This was not any loophole in the system that we were exploiting, it was officially allowed.

If you are all in one car only, then I don't see a problem with it. I have a problem when friends that visit don't have passes, and you split up your bands.
I don't think he's saying they split up the bands, I think he's saying they split up the party. He's not giving passholder bands to non-passholder people. He's just putting some passholder people in each vehicle.

Because your friends don't have passes. I understand wanting to help a friend, but it is technically cheating.

True, but they are doing it to bypass the parking fee that the other car would have paid if they were not with them. That's the difference.

Sorry Goof, you're wrong on this one. Free parking has nothing to do with the individuals, it has everything to do with the vehicle. If there's a passholder in the vehicle, the vehicle parks for free. It doesn't make a difference if there are ten people in the back seat who aren't passholders.

Another example: It would be bad for someone to abuse a passholder / DVC / cast member merchandise discount to buy someone a bag of candy. But if a passholder / DVC member / cast member used their discount to buy themselves a bag of candy and then shared the candy with his non-passholder friends, that would be perfectly appropriate.
