Socks or no Socks?

hmm i suppose you go for what is most comfy for you. although i really do think jebus sandals and socks are a no fly zone.
when i'm in the parks i go for my trusty reebok theme park trainers (i ONLY wear them on holiday and to theme parks, seen as i bought them in florida after i bought some sketcher sandals thinking these will be comfy but they tore my feet apart) and pop socks. only problem there is that if they get wet, it can make for a pretty miserable day walking around, and smelly feet!
i think next year when we go i may risk the crocs. again, not something i would usually wear unless abroad or it was rediculously hot here in the uk.
as for the packs (bum bags in the uk!) again, not something i would even consider wearing anywhere but a theme park. i like to have my hands free, and keep my belongings with me at all times.

Given some of the fashion crimes that occur in the parks, socks with sandals is probably the lightest. I'd never do it but if it's comfortable for you that'd be the most important thing. Just remember if you board a water ride, a soggy wet sock would probably be more uncomfortable than any pair of shoes.

I once walked a park with flip flops 2 years ago and The mevt day the pain was so bad i thought my toe next to my big toe was broken. To this day I am still sencitive between my left big toe.

you know after reading all these different options I've came to the conclusion that we all have our favourite attire. The most important thing of all is comfort. I've had a pair of Merrell flip flops for about twelve years now, cost me around $80.00 but they've seen their days,so this year I got a pair of Karribor flip flops and I've done a bit of walking to break them in.So to all you fashion freaks out there. Remember the 60,s love and peace, flowers in your hair, and all that.

My advice to those that would ask about socks with sandals has always been:

"Only knee-high mismatched socks are appropriate with sandals".

Anybody that follows said advice obviously has zero fashion sense.

Never socks with sandals. Be it Jesus Joggers, Keens, or even plain old flip flops. Although I have made the rare exception when I have worn them in the middle of the winter. And at this point in time, if you are wearing shorts, your socks shouldn't come above your ankles even when wearing shoes. The point of wearing shorts is because it is hot out, so why wear something that will just create more heat/sweat on your body? Never quite understood that. The main reason (I believe) to even wear longer socks with pants is that for ages it was considered impolite to show off your ankles. So the socks hid your ankles when your pants creeped up when you sat down or crossed your legs.

If you think it's going to be more comfortable for you and you want to wear them, then I say do it. Hey, if it keeps your feet more comfortable and it allows you to stay in the park longer, then why not. Besides, part of the fun of WDW is wearing whetever you want regardless of how it looks - unless its a Tinkerbell costume and then you wont be allowed in the park :)
