Ok folks,I normally wear sandals bare footed round the parks,no socks unless Iam wearing trainers,I've read about Smartwool and Coolmax socks but I don't think you get them here in the UK.So my question is if your wearing sandals, the Jesus type,do you go bare footed or socks?

I wear whatever is most comfortable for the occasion. There's no reason to bring the "rules of fashion" with you through the turnstiles.

Whether it's these:

While I agree socks and sandals looks ridiculous, I have to say for me, all bets are off when it comes to fashion in the Disney parks. It's purely function. I would NEVER wear a pack in "real life", nor would I parade around in a tiara or a giant ponytail holder with ribbons and little mickeys hanging off of it, however, I been known to rock all three whilst intoxicated on pixie dust!!!

As far as I'm conserned I bring my "South Carolina" with me and wear boots :)

If you DO wind up wearing just sandals (no socks which is the much better way of doing it ) be sure to put sunscreen on your feet! Seriously, people burn the tops of their feet all the time down here and that hurts.

Depends on your age. Generally...

If you are twelve to twenty-five or thirty, you won't want to wear the socks because you'll be worried about what other people think and fashion.

If you are older than that, you'll be worried about comfort.

I take comfort over fashion. :)

Socks with Sandals

Wearing socks with sandals seems to be a cultural thing. In the US it may look tacky but my European friends say it is common to wear them over there. I suppose the compromise would be to get anklets in your skin color or sandal color if possible. Knee high socks with sandals looks a little odd from a US fashion perspective.

As others have said, making a fashion statement shouldn't be your concern though. What makes your feet feel the most comfortable is more important so you can enjoy your Disney vacation!

Regardless of the footwear you choose you might consider having bandages or moleskin available in your suitcase in case you get a blister (maybe even in your pack). Also be sure to break in any new footwear before you go to WDW. That can help prevent blisters you may naturally get from your feet adjusting to new footwear.

For the more fashion-conscious, I would suggest wearing socks with a vibrant design on them. Then your decision will appear obviously intentional, instead of clueless.
