I agree with the concept but wondering how they could manage the queue. Would it be random by the time you get it the separation point, could you request the version you want? And if you could, would 1.0 be full while 2.0 gets a trickle?
Left side for Cali, right side for World or vice versa…I’m sure they can figure something out that would work.

We can agree to disagree…the Cali film is better, the scents are even better. Let’s compromise…again, put the Cali in one and the world in the other 2…in 1 month the wait times for Cali will be such that they’ll reverse it. I’m tired of looking at the Eiffel Tower bent when I haven’t even made it to the F&W festival yet…

I mean... I don't want to be rude, but I'm kind of baffled as to why you think I'm suggesting they should just keep the current world film.

I specifically said the California version is better. My point is that they need to fix the world version so that it's also good, or better yet, create a new version that's as good or better than the California one. The California one shouldn't be permanently installed because it's not a good fit for EPCOT, but it's a great stopgap for Soarin' while they actually create a worthy world film (even though they probably won't).

It's not like the only two options are the existing world film or the existing California film.

What? Who said that? It certainly wasn't me.
You said it was better to have a film based upon the world which was a better fit than one based in CA. Therefore, one can easily infer that it's better to have a world film that sucked than a superior film based in CA.

I won't disagree that the intentions were good for the revised film. But frankly, SATW didn't live up to the standards set by the original. The original is a better representation for The Land than the revised version could ever hope to be.

But you didn't have to infer that because I went on to explain exactly what I meant, and even said the California film would be good as a temporary installation while they create a new world film that's as good (or better) than the California one.

I never suggested they needed to just keep the current world film.

When my girls were little, we used to love “kicking” the kayakers, dodging the golf balls in the Palm Springs scene and as I said the scents were so much better!!

As an aside, about a year ago, the state of California made a commercial using the Queen song
“Don’t Stop me Now”… Google that ad…tell me it doesn’t look familiar…

Regardless the CA film is better than SATW. And if and until they create a replacement for SATW, I hope that SOC stays around.

Soarin over CA is the first one I saw, and it’s less CGI, so I prefer it slightly over World. They’re both terrific.

I do wonder how much of World’s shortcomings are the way the warping becomes obvious with the Taj Mahaj and Eiffel Tower scenes, and if switching those out could eliminate some of this problems

No reason they couldn’t do it like M:S with green and orange. Either dedicated lines for either or a dividing point later in the queue where a person decides which version to do.

The big question would be which version gets two theaters vs one theater for the other. But they could use demand over time to determine that

I say give Cali 1 just to prove my point…after 1 month, the demand will dictate TWDC to reverse it and put the Cali version in two…

I really think y'all would be surprised at how few people would really push one film over the other. Soarin' is a fun ride with both videos. People would see both films equally if both were options. It's not a Mission:Space situation.

I actually think is true. For the average park goers I’d guess there would be a modest preference for Cali by not as overwhelming as presented here. I wonder what the ratings are from Touring Plans or internal surveys

Permanently install the California film. Disney is erasing my childhood with Splash and others, let us have this one thing that was good. That did work and was enjoyable. It doesn't need debated for if it fit. It fit because it was a hit. Let the old film come back and let's smell the oranges again.
