HOWEVER, once this color change is complete (and hopefully mountains are built - I have a feeling Eisner'll nix this one), then no harm will be done.

While it might be an architectual marvel, it still stands out when you're in World Showcase.

Grizz, this isn't directed at you per say, but at everyone that complains about the building because you can see it from World Showcase.

It seems very hypocritical to me to complain about one building you MIGHT BE ABLE to distinguish once complete vs. a building that clearly stands out.

I'm not complaining that you can see Imagination from World Showcase either. Personally, I think it's stupid to complain about both.

Right, and its not a " architectual marvel " Its a glass pyramid that sits close to Canada and sticks out even more so, IMO. Tell me, when was the last time you saw a glass pyramid next to a Castle like structure in the 'real' Canada  :p ;)

But I dont care... as long as we are getting a new attraction... I am a happy camper. :sohappy:

It looked very obvious when it was going up, but it was dark in color. The powder blue siding going on will make it look much less obvious.

Besides, this is nothing compared to the Swolphin hotels behind France.

Well then we obviously have a problem at the Magic Kingdom. The Castle sticks out like a soar thumb in Mainstreet and just about everywhere else. I think a mountain should be built around it so that we can only see it from Fantasyland.

A new attraction is great and I'm sure they'll do a great job in theming it and making it blend in, so its not really worth worrying about. However i do see where people are coming from. If you are going to have World Showcase its best to keep each country as well themed as possible towards just that country, they do have a point. Therefore, you can't compare the Soarin' building with the castle at MK! Two totally different situations!

Btw, i can't believe how fast that building went up!:sohappy:

I heard the story two days earlier from a reliable source. . . so it's either a matter of it falling through at some point or being built in a couple years. :)

Maybe they could use the circle vision theatre - that show is sooooo dated!

I think they should keep the theatre and garden area (SO many people will be ticked if the garden is replaced), but simply update the film. My only request is. . . KEEP THE SONG!

I don't think the building looks bad. I think people are seeing pictures like this and concentrationg on just that building, once your there I think the atmosphere around you will make you forget about the Soarin' Building.

I went yesterday.

Is it the original film that debuted when Showcase did?

Yes. I think they had changed the film at one point, but then went back to the original.

It's not so much that there is a building there at all, but that it sits right behind the Frontenac building and makes that look like a minature. At least the Swan and Dolphin aren't positioned so that they sit right behind the Eifel Tower.

Then again I have not seen it in person.

Lord people, your thinking of it all wrong, when you get right in front of the Canadian pavillion, I HIGHLY doubt that you will notice the soarin building. Everyone is thinking of it in the persepective of looking at it accross the lagoon. Think of it, why would Disney build a building like that that you could see from the other side of the park? Could it be....maybe they WANT you to see it? Perhaps drawing you to the other side of the park so you can experience the attraction? *DING* Don't worry about it, and stop complaining about the change that everyone wanted so badly.

I am so upset Epcot is adding new attractions, I wish they would just keep the park the way it was in 1982...
