Same thing with Fantasmic. You re facing a losing battle anytime you re tasked with altering an iconic score to make it “new” but familiar.

I've walked past the Fantasmic viewing area a number of times the last week.... And honestly, I've never seen the show that empty. Tons and tons of empty viewing space.

I certainly never saw the old show that empty, ever. Obviously, this is all circumstantial but still worth noting.

Makes me wonder if maybe the new one isn't hitting like the old one did?

Fantasmic isn't a bad recording, although it has a lot of reverb.

Soarin' is an entirely different case. It's a decent composer who is totally out of his league adapting the work of a true legend. It also reflects various ethnicities as you see foreign countries and becomes quite boring at that point. The original score doesn't have a dull moment. World is full of them.

Personally, I think Fantasmic having fastpass is hurting those viewing areas. Tons of crowd are left out just in the no fastpass zones.

Definitely.... But even when slow, I've never seen Fantasmic as empty as it was.

As I said, purely anecdotal. Just thought I'd make the observation.
Yeah I just don't know if I would classify that as an indictment on the show. Because I can say I was there in July when the parks were just as empty and the show was full. So I think its hit or miss based on the crowd makeup.

It's amazing how Disney is "improving" the parks, like adding SWL, but all we really want is a relaxing riverboat cruise at night with a live New Orleans Jazz band.
Honestly though. People attack me because I'm too hard to please when I don't like Galaxy's Edge or some other grand project. I'm in love with the bear reaching for honey sign on Hungry Bear Restaurant. I'm ridiculously easy to please.

You wouldn't believe the eye roll some random lady gave me when I pointed to that sign and told my group that's the best addition Disneyland's gotten all year.

Oh come on admit that you enjoy being a bit of a contrarian. You love talking about the little simple things that no one else talks about that you find enjoyment in and going against the grain when things are overhyped.
Do you have any idea what you are going to be like at
76. Woooowww!!!!!
😂😉
Believe it or not I have a touch of that myself.

I’m a contrarian by accident. I legitimately just love the simple things.
