To be honest the most Metroid experience I’ve ever had was Metroid Blast in Nintendo Land.

To be honest the most Metroid experience I’ve ever had was Metroid Blast in Nintendo Land.

Obviously I cannot recommend the series enough!!

If you are able, download Metroid Zero Mission for GBA (unless you wanna play it on a real GBA like I do lol). And get Metroid Samus Returns for 3DS. Those are the first two games reimagined for modern consoles and they perfectly capture the atmosphere, gameplay elements, and story.

If you love them, you can then move on to Super Metroid, Other M, and Fusion. Super Metroid is still considered by some to be THE greatest video game of all time. Other M has its critics but I personally think it’s a beautiful game. Conversely, Fusion might be the most terrifying. (Super was originally on SNES, obviously. Other M on Wii, and Fusion on GBA. Yes, it ends where it begins).

Those are the core games of the main story. There is also the Prime series which is sort of a side story that takes place between Zero Mission and Samus Returns. They’re FPS games, and while they’re objectively incredible, I personally SUCK at FPSs so I don’t really get as excited for them lol.
