Season five is honestly such a bonkers enigma of a season. It's the shortest game in the franchise but also maybe the one with the most high highs contrasted against low lows. One of the big events that happened early on was one of the first team-based projects that we sprinkled in among the individual projects. It was a classic dark ride prompt. The twist was that each player on each team was assigned a different role. The loosing team would then loose a member based on what we thought the weakest part of their project was. If I remember correctly it was a tight race but Mater ended up eliminated as his team's project had a more book report story to it and he was in charge of story. That to this day is one of the stupidest eliminations on the judges part since Mater was one of the most active people in the cast and the decision was super abritrary. That along with the switch to Universal-based projects halfway through the season led to the departure of both Mater and KingMickey. Definitely a low of lows. To make up for it though, I strongly believe the switch to Universal projects in the second half is one of the best twists in the game's history and really set the stage for the prompts to take on a life of their own moving forward. Garrett getting Lord of the Rings'd was also an iconic moment and Romanarms vs. Costafreak is still to this day one of the most delightfully weird and somewhat lopsided final twos the game has ever seen.

Also just a bit more info on the mess that was season three. In all honesty were lucky season four turned out as well as it did because S3 was a trainwreck mostly due to my co-judge for that season. Without getting into too many personal details, let's just say this guy had issues As Jokers said, he tried to lord over everyone with the "Fact" that he was a real life Imagineer only to admit to that being a complete lie at the end of the season. The "Real life Imagineer" factor led to him having infamously harsh realism scores, and he had an active feud with Basketbuddy simply because he didn't feel like reading projects that long. I also vividly remember him bugging me on AIM (remember when that was a thing, kids!) at odd hours of the night to complain about his personal relationship drama. Keep in mind I was probably still in middle school at the time. While I'm stoked that MadAboutMickey along with DisneyFreak gave us some much needed female winner representation in the early days, that's literally the only kind thing I can say about the season.
That S3 stuff is just baffling to me!
A dude pretending to be an actual imagineer.
Did he ever participate in games prior to that? I know y’all said he left the forums afterwards.

Oh,...oh and we need another woman to win??

I love that this very description makes me as a coaster fan even more excited for it haha. One of the big issues for riding coasters for me now as a BIG MAN is getting stapled by the restraints. I always try to get as much breathing room between my body and the restraints as I can, so this description sounds like bliss. :hilarious:
Idk how big you are is but I believe you need a 40 inch waist or smaller to ride. My boyfriend said it was really tight.
You don’t need shoulder restraints on upside down coaster unless there’s a long portion upside down. Centripetal force keeps you in your seat on loops and corkscrews. A lot of the time coasters that do have shoulder restraints don’t even need them; they’re more for your “comfort”. That’s why things like Hangtime and Velocicoaster can get away with a lapbar only
This is why I rode it, I knew like I wouldn’t actually fall out cause Physics but damn I hated it 😄

You'd be suprised how many coasters don't have shoulder restraints even when there are loops. For example, Knotts has Hangtime which has several loops but only a lap bar. It really doesn't support the upper half of the body. It's very annoying.
Busch Gardens Tampa has the Scorpion with a Thunder Mountain style lapbar and a loop too.

Rode Velocicoaster yesterday:

I hate that ride so much I’m never riding it again. A lap bar is not enough to feel safe when you hit speeds of 70 mph, go upside down multiple times and various crazy hills. The amount of times the lapbar was rise as I rose was bit too much, would’ve been a better experience with a harness/shoulder bar. I don’t know bout y’all but I usually go to the parks for a good time , and I was crying at the end because I was so scared of falling out and dieing or something. I’d say it’s the most extreme coaster in Florida or at least for me. Second being Manta and after that I’m okay with most rollercoasters. Still say you should try Velocicoaster for yourself but yea if this was Roller Coaster Tycoon it be ruled as very extreme 😅

I'm with Tiki on this one. Speaking as the other coaster enthusiast in this community (possibly including @spacemt354), this honestly looks like the best overall ride in Orlando. It's obviously designed for the enthusiast niche, which seems a wise decision since that seems to be Orlando's major weak spot. IOA maybe errs by not having much else to act as an intensity transition to prepare GP (general public) guests for Velocicoaster, since sadly it caught @tcool123 off guard. Sounds like it's doing exactly what it was designed to do, however! The enthusiast community is agog!

I hate OTSR (over the shoulder restraints). With unique exceptions like B&M inverts, they're never needed for safety. They can be extremely uncomfortable as well - especially on a snappy-looking ride like Velocicoaster - when your head bangs against both sides and you emerge with a wretched headache. I far prefer the freedom of a lap bar with ZERO holding the upper torso. You shouldn't even hang on. Just raise your arms in the air, surrender to what the coaster wants to do (especially if it's an RMC), and in my experience you'll have a far more pleasant ride.

I’m sure @D Hulk would love it, then.
I would! Informally, the POVs would place it as my #4 coaster overall and #1 in pure steel. (So behind Steel Vengeance, Voyage and El Toro, and above Maverick and Skyrush. My biggest U.S. blindspots are Intimidator 305, Fury 325, and similar.)

@D Hulk is probably booking his flight right now.
You joke, but...

Considering a road trip, actually. I wanna do it proper and pick up some Six Flags & SeaWorld annual passes along the way, do their Texas parks, and get the full Busch Tampa experience as well. (Iron Gwazi will unseat Velocicoaster.)

Yeah, this is just the one thing that finally convinces him to take a trip to Florida. 😂
It is.

Ooooh, sounds awesome! (But you should also be sure to get to Epcot, you know?)

Yeah yeah, I'll do the Disney parks too. Really, though, they're the ones that frighten me. So much necessary pre-planning and reservations and the whole elaborate resort experience. It's overwhelming.
Hey at least right now all u need is a park ressie and you’re good! Disney has all of its rides open in Florida unlike Universal which has it’s best ride closed, Storm Force Xleration. I’m not joking btw that’s probably my favorite ride at the reaort 😅

Would pitch again if Covid is the concern Disney is the best bet. SeaWorld Parks ignore safety completely and Universal gas been phasing it out. Right now Disney is honestly the one that for the most part is still trying
Yes. I was just saying that the whole reservation system and such adds complexity to the already immense process.

@D Hulk Do you think you’ll be doing a trip report on the forum? I’d love to read it!

My 2nd shot is in 2 weeks. Wouldn't consider such a trip without it.

Yeah, probably I will. But patience, please, the trip isn't even planned yet! I'm still waiting on @NateD1226 to come over and collect my cats.
