Well, we got that part squared away but now I'm facing a different challenge. In going in to make Fastpass reservations it takes me to the calendar to select the days, but even though both our tickets and reservations are CLEARLY on the app it's not letting me go past January on the calendar...so it's essentially acting as if I don't have the reservations. Any advice on this? This is a bit too complicated to just call about as I can't have a cast member just make all the Fastpass reservations for me.

This kind of nonsense is EXACTLY why I'm skeptical of paperless Fastpasses :p ;)
Of course you can call and they can make it for you if you tell them what you want. They get paid to help:p In 2013 we were some of the first guests to use the system and our fastpasses had to be made by cast members simply because we couldnt do it for whatever reason.

It's your first time, they'll understand.

I can only say so much but looking at the MyDisneyExperience app i have its showing February. Just click on the calendar icon next to the January title and swipe to the next month. @MonorailRed and myself are actually heading down in mid-January and we havent even made the fastpasses yet so youre still ahead of schedule haha

So far the calendar issue is fine but it keeps giving me error screens when I click on specific dates. That's okay though because I have the trip itinerary written down at my grandma's house and I need that to know for sure what parks were doing on which days.

Wow. I logged on RIGHT at 7 (this was EXACTLY when we could start reserving them mind you, the whole problem yesterday was that we were one day off from the 60 day point) and because of the error screens I kept getting by the time I actually got onto the system all the Flight of Passage FPs were completely booked for my whole trip. Honestly, I'm crushed. I had a whole strategy of reriding it every day using Fastpass and rope drop and now that's out the window. And now I've gone from being frustrated by the Fastpass+ system to completely and totally LOATHING it. This is so unfair on so many levels. It's literally a lottery of trying to get through the servers.

Trying not to let this ruin things, but especially considering all the stress I went through yesterday to make sure we could start reserving Fastpasses today, I feel like Disney just stabbed me in the back. Sorry to sound like a whiny fanboy but I feel like there was literally NOTHING I could have done to actually get one of these damn things.

Were you able to get your other Fastpasses?

While not waiting is great like I was saying earlier, Flight of Passage is actually better experienced as a non-FP+ option. The FP+ line completely bypasses the detail in the queue and the scenic views and stuff. The stand-by line also constantly moves. Getting there at rope drop, or at the end of the night, you'll wait 40 mins tops.

Feeling better about the situation, worked out other strategies in my head. For Flight of Passage rerides I'm going to try for either right before closing or getting there at rope drop and then jumping right back in line and waiting another hour or so. The fact that the line's constantly moving makes me feel better because I have issues with my feet standing in one place that are far lessened if they're consistently moving.

Here's our itinerary, with Friday as our Blizzard Beach/Disney Springs day and Sat/Sun as our Universal Days

2/27: Space Mountain, Haunted Mansion, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
2/28: River Journey, Expedition Everest
3/1: River Journey/Safari
3/5: Frozen Ever After, Mission Space (literally got that because it was the only other thing available that I thought would actually have a wait long enough to warrant a Fastpass :p Not going to waste it on something like Living with the Land or Imagination. Though I'm considering changing this around to Spaceship Earth...)

All in all I'm very glad I got Mine Train and Frozen when I did and while I had to compromise a bit on the Animal Kingdom stuff my strategy has now shifted to riding FoP twice in the first couple hours the park is open and just using FP for River Journey. Again, apologies if I sounded whiny, you know how I get when I'm stressed ;) :p

Mine Train and Frozen are two very sought after FPs -- looks like you have a pretty solid list!

@TheOriginalTiki I don't know if this was part of your plans but you can make 3 FPs per day -- and once you use up all 3 FPs you can make a 4th one the day of. So even though you said you didn't want to waste one on a Living with the Land type ride that you can walk-on, it's worth it just to have. As well as for the DAK days -- make the 3rd one for Dinosaur or something like that and then maybe later on that day an additional Everest FP opens up.

Even if you don't end up using them at least you have it.

Drop mission space for test track or Soarin, if you can. In my observation (which isn't in March, but near peak August) and a few years old now, Mission Space lines generally Peter out towards the end of the day. I have done it as a near walk-on several times.

In contrast, Soarin and Test Track are nearly always...bad.

Epcot uses tiered fast passes. You can only get one A-list as day until you use up all three. Soarin, test track, and frozen are all A-list. Test Track has the single rider. I usually recommend rope dropping soarin and fast passing frozen (or vice versa)

Fast pass plus is weird and glitchy. But you got a good set. You can get in line up to like a minute before the park closes and get on the ride. Remember with flight of Passage, there's 2 relatively long pre shows. So, the posted wait time is like 10-20 minutes longer than it really is because it counts the preshow as wait time.

We went on 15 mins before park closing in the summer, posted wait time was 120 mins and we waited 60 :p

@TheOriginalTiki going at the end of Feb after Presidents Day and before Spring Break, the lines should be a lot better than peak summer.

Yeah, I don't keep up with the tiers until I am planning a trip...you are right.

And, that hasn't been for a while (to WDW), much less Epcot.

Good call on TT single rider though. THAT is the way to do it. I completely forgot about it (I travel with a kiddo...no single rider for me! But, likely perfect for Tiki!)

I'd still hit Soarin over Test Track though, the Soarin Queue is SOOO boring.

And, I wouldn't bother with Mission: Space if you can get one in another tier, I guess...it is hardly worth it. I can't remember a time when I've waited longer than 15 - 20 minutes for Orange since 2010... I guess if there's nothing else though...?

--edit--

Yeesh, now that I think through this...there really isn't that much to do at EPCOT ride-wise... Shame...

Yes you can! Apologies that this thread got hijacked by planning my trip haha.

@spacemt354 the days we only have two Fastpasses are days we plan to go between two parks. Ex on the day we have Epcot reservations were doing Hollywood Studios during the "morning" timeslot
Yeah that's fine -- my point was that it doesn't hurt to have a 3rd FP each day. If you don't use it, nothing happens....but if you do use it, you can make a 4th FP for later in the night (at any park too regardless of where the 3 original FPs were)

People do a “tap and grab” with this. So they’ll get a fast pass for something like Journey into Imagination just so that they can tap it showing that they used it and book a FP for somewhere else.

(grumble grumble grumble...over complicated system...grumble grumble...bring back paper FP...grumble Blame Meg....grumble)

--that said, that's a really good idea, frankly. I'm gonna remember that tactic.
