So, You Want to be an Imagineer Season 15: Uniting Universal (Official Hub Thread)

Well first, no Westeros or anything that Universal doesn't have the rights to use (wether it's been in their parks or not(and I know people on social media have come up with ideas for attractions based on third party IPs like Willy Wonka but come on, we're Imagineers not the stock market). Instead I propose a better version of Toon Lagoon with maybe an advanced version of Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges and also maybe Shrek land.
I'm good with a better version of Toon Lagoon! Shrek could be interesting as well. I know for the IoA style park we wanted to try to make a more wilderness feel, forest, and more...maybe we could have a Shrek mini-land with the swamp?

It's 100% an endorsement! I love Jaws. I was absolutely crushed when they said it was closing. At least there is still something in Universal Hollywood even though it is nowhere near as good...
Whattaya know? Tomorrow I'll be visiting Universal Studios Japan, and guess what they still have there? The Jaws ride!

So likely in a two days' time I'll be totally stoked for Universal concepts. I'm all for a New England coastal Jaws land, which I believe USJ sort of actually has. So too does DisneySea (the Cape Cod miniland), which is a lovely little setting:

Isn't Harry Potter an outside party? Universal technically doesn't own HP but it's still in the park. Why can't we use other properties like that including Willy Wonka. That would be such a great experience going through the chocolate factory.

Alton Towers believe it or not used to have a Charlie and the Chocolate Factory ride -- it just closed in 2015.

Have no idea if they still own the rights, maybe someone else can chime in.

First of all thank you for pointing out my mistake. I meant outside IP that Universal hasn't used for their parks, or used to have like the original Ghostsbusters and soon Terminator. And second, it's completely redundant since in order for something like Wonka in Universal to work both sides have to agree and form a license for the IP in a certain park and if that is successful they usually bring it to other parks.

I might have missed it scrolling through haha but it looks like Projects 4-9 were archived and comics101's artwork says project 1 so maybe it was earlier in the season?
Yeah, Zelda was project one. Shame that I don't seem to have it. I believe that I have most of the rest of the season, though, thankfully. If only I could have found the rest....

Regarding Nintendo, even though Metroid is more of a cult property, it would make for a fantastic theme park setting!

After many, many rides on DisneySea's Journey to the Center of the Earth, I started picturing a subterranean journey through the hollow Planet Zebes, from the lush surface caverns teeming with strange animatronic alien life, down into the molten core and then to a misty biomechanical laboratory. Following a climactic battle with a full scale Mother Brain, the customary "planet destruction" countdown begins - cue a high speed "Test Track" escape to the surface and to Samus' dropship.

Don't worry about it - the concept art at least gives us a taste of what once was.

That sounds amazing!

If we did a Nintendo land set in space, we could have rides for Mario Galaxy, Metroid, and maybe even Star Fox!

A Nintendo park could be interesting, the only thing I question is if it will have enough variety to entice non-Nintendo fans into the park. Though I definitely think Nintendo needs more than one land. I'm thinking you could also add in other digital or animated properties so that the entire park is like Universal's version of a Fantasyland theme park.

And then for the second park, it could have more of a Disney Sea focus...meaning more realistic land settings in villages, seaside piers, etc. This could incorporate the Victorian entrance Jokers was referring to...mixed with a Parisan village with Les Mis, a Cape Cod seaside town for Jaws, maybe the suburban town of Hill Valley for BTTF, and so on.

In the back of that park, can be more of a natural adventure landscape with Jurassic Park and Kong dominating the skyline. Just some ideas.

Why not have three parks? Studios, the DisneySEA concept, and a Nintendo Boutique Park (with like half a day's worth of attractions.) Could be a way of realistically putting in everything we want out of this into the resort.
What if Nintendo was the water park?
I'll defer to the Nintendo fans for this. Not that I'm not a Nintendo fan I just don't have the in-depth knowledge of it aside from Mario. Would it function well in a water park? Or a water park/boutique hybrid.

3 full parks I think would be a bit excessive right off the bat, but a smaller park at a water park level price could work and was going to be part of the plan anyway.

I personally think that a water park would be a bit limiting for Nintendo, but if you guys want to go with it that's fine.
