Its been awhile since we've heard anything regarding the WB. Does anyone know whats up other than then land being cleared???

what thes western beltway?
Sorry... Meant the Disney Development.
It's a new exit off of the florida turnpike. It comes down the western side of WDW, instead of having to go down to I-4 which is on the far East side of WDW. And I-4 is developed and crowded. Hopefully The Western Beltway should save a lot of time if you are headed to a resort on the Western side of WDW.

It's a really nice drive too. I have been to the resort when it's been really crowded, and taken the new hwy to Western Way. Eventually I am sure it will be really crowded, but for now it's wide open and saves gobs of time if you are staying anywhere near the AK.

Yeah..it's nice now...but give it ten years after all the development Disney does and it will be just as crowded and glutted as I-4 and I-Drive!
Argh.....i was not too excited about the new expansion planned there when it was announced, what, last year? I really think it is going to have a negative effect on the area, and "cheapen" what is supposed to be a wonderful Themed Property experience.
I am just concerned about over-doing it. If done RIGHT, it has the chance to be a real plus. I just wish i could convince myself it will be....but my gut tells me this is going to be a black mark on Property. I just have a hard time seeing cheapy hotels, Walmart-style stores, and strip malls as being part of the actual "Vacation Kingdom"
We will see once the building begins....

The exit comes out right next to Coronado, which is pretty close to the All Star resorts.

It is on google maps-
On the left, route 429 is the new highway... Western Way comes right off of it and in towards "World Showcase Lagoon".
You actually come out right next to Coronado Springs. It is a short cut if you come 75 to Florida's turnpike. You never go near I-4.

If you're coming from eastern Ohio to FL via I-77 to I-26 to I-95 to I-4, then the Western Beltway isn't going to help you. If you're coming from western Ohio to FL via I-75 all the way to FL turnpike, then the Western Beltway is the way to go. Hope this helps!
