So what happened with the Disney World DS experiment?

Hey folks!
I kind of lost track of this one...whatever happened to it? Has DW utilized it or did they scrap the idea?

If this topic has been discussed to death I apologize.

I believe it was abandoned in favor of the deal with Verizon Wireless.

For those of you that are confused, the OP is referring to the test Imagineering did with the Nintendo DS. It provided a map of the park with real time information.

As one that tested the idea, it was really cool. It provided wait times and fastpass return times in real time, plotted where to go next based on wait times and your preferences entered at the beginning, nearest restroom...really neat idea. I'd love to see the same software available for my iPhone...except then I'd never get it out of the kids' hands!

I would love for WDW to have Wi-Fi and then make Apps for my IPod Touch. I already downloaded an App that is a map of the park with info on each attraction such as age and stuff. I would LOVE for Disney to come out with this.
