Well, congratulations guys! You have yet again ruined a perfectly good thread by turning it into a stupid discussion full of unfunny jokes and totally off topic crap. This thread was supposed to have been about MGM's new stunt show, not what kind of cars you do or don't like and anything else that you could think of. If you guys want to talk about this stuff, do it through personal messages or in the chit chat section. I find it ironic that you yelled at somebody because of their signature length while you broke all kinds of rules by totally drifting a thread into something completely different. Do you honestly think that other people enjoy reading your personal conversations? I know I don't...

Well said. It gets annoying when new members join and are criticized and sometimes driven away from the forums for the way they write and actual moderators and long-time members fill up threads like this with nonsense. There is nothing wrong with having fun and goofing off in these threads (it is about Disney after all :) ), but let's not get out of hand with something that only ammuses two or so members. If you expect new members and other members to follow the rules, at least the moderators should follow them too. No hard feelings, I hope ;)

Now, let the thread continue about the stunt show! :D

fine! you want on topic, I'll give you on topic...

HERE ARE A FEW THINGS IN REGARDS TO THE TOPIC IN HAND..

1-What kind of cars would GM put in their US show? I think now it would be Cadillac CTS, Chevy Suburban, Saturn ION and some random Saabs

2-How many cars would they have? I feel no less than 4 or 5

3-Where would it be in MGM? I feel that it would be on the backlot somewhere

THERE! BACK ON TOPIC...

:D

I agree! I was angciouse to talk about the Stunt show until the goofiness started and it got way off task and I was disapointed that this thread was going no where. Thank goodness Merlin got us back on topic. Thank you Merlin!:D

And Poncho, I think that you should appologize to Married@WDW. I realize that you were just joking, but it was rather rude that you were commenting out loud at her signature length.

hi darrel!! :D

I am actually curious what kind of cars GM would put in a US show, given how much more of a variety there is with GM in the US than in Europe...

in Europe, GM is limited to Opel/Vauxhall, Saab, some Fiat, some Isuzu, and the few Chevy/GM models they import..

in the US we have GM, Chevy, Cadillac, Pontiac, Saab, Saturn, and some Isuzu... think how cool it'd be... a live action chase recreation of the chase scene from the Matrix Reloaded (albeit it'd never happen)

Yeah, I have to agree with rob on this one. Not just the Darrel thing. You couldn't possibly expect GM to keep the same vehicles in a US show as they would in a Euro show. Not is it only to showcase stunt skills, but it shows automotive prowess. Why show prowess with vehicles that arent even offered in the home market?

Oh yeah and thanks Merlin...with out your I am sure the 3 or 4 of us that found this thread amusing may have gotten to laugh.

Wow, I hadn't heard anything about this show until this thread came about. Looks like it would a fantastic addition to Disney Studios. I think it would really bring some life and people back into the rear of the park. The backlot tour has been sort of "same ol', same ol" for the past few years, and it cartainly doesn't make me want to go out of my way to get there anymore.

However, if I take the correct route, it IS on the way to Muppetvision 3D!:D

granted...

but theres no rules banning thread drifts. there are those however, against excessively long signatures. Plain and simple...

back on topic...

how cool would it be... some Pontiac action... man oh man

I agree with MKT...on both points.....This board would be boring without the fun stuff....just read by it....unless you're too lazy.

Pontiac has a bunch of new cars out they could advertise and get exposure for. The Grand Prix is all new for 2004 and looks really sweet. They also have the Vibe (which I coincidentally own) that could lend itself to doing stunt-type stuff off of it and on it because of it's SUV look.

I would really love to see a stunt show like this make its way to MGM. It would really add some life to that area of the park. However, is there really a need for two stunt shows? They are different though, and Indy still can pack them in :) The backlot tour is getting a little old, especially since they never or hardly ever film anything there anymore. I just hope that if they do get rid of a part of the residential street ever that they have somewhere to put the Osborne lights at Christmas. That's one of my favorite things at Christmas. :)

I think Merlin did the right thing here. :)

As long as we're quoting people....i thought I'd quote you.

Actually, Merlin did the exact opposite that steve has asked. He has asked that you let him or one of his moderators do the policing on the boards. Merlin isnt' a moderator last time I checked.

What we've found is that the people who take offense will always be the ones making themselves heard...I'm betting more than 2 or 3 people had fun reading the thread. Rememer, it's all about fun, and on a message board, threads will drift. If you're going to get upset if a few drift off course, then you really need to find better hobbies. Drifting and having fun is what makes this place what it is. You want to know why I haven't been posting? Because it's a constant stream of everybody trying to be "Mr. Policeman" around here.

So now, I'm back. And in full force. And the offenders in this thread have me to thank.

Sorry, I wasn't offended by anything written on this thread and I hope you weren't offended by anything I said. I was simply stating my opinion that Merlin helped to try and get this thread back on course (and now here I am drifting into something else. Sorry for that too  ). I won't comment on this anymore and I never wanted to act as a "policeman" :) In fact, I deleted most of my last post since I don't want to overstep any boundaries. :) No hard feelings I hope.
