I am preparing to pack for our trip in 12 days. I noticed many others posted in the awesome "neat and pretty" thread that they do have some type of a beauty routine. I am headed out this weekend to get some last minute things so please tell me what beauty products/tips/ideas that you use or do. I am feeling more like a step sister am less like a princess the further along I get, need some prettiness:)
My tip: bare mineral powder foundation used lightly, has SPF, evens out skin with out the foundation/concealer heaviness and keeps shine down...

I can't go with out blotting papers - MAC makes them but you can get other brands too. It absorbs the oil and doesn't add makeup layers to you. I have a lippy (lip gloss of some nature), lip balm, hairbrush, hair ties and barretts in case the weather is making my hair do weird things. When I set out for the day, I make sure that makeup is done and hair is dried. Usualy I let it air dry but in the humid heat, I would be a hot frizzy mess if i let it air dry in the FL sun. I use a product, there are loads on the market, that is to control friz caused by humidity and I apply that before we leave. Also, I always bring along a travel size deoderant and a small thing of perfume or body spray. :)

I use that foundation every day. It is great.

I get a pedi before and after my trip, mani my nails and always get a few new pieces to my wardrobe.

When I go to Disney in the summer, all I do is shower and put my hair in a pony and I am out the door. It dries quickly in the hot summer sun. I don't put on eye makeup because if I am wearing sunglasses, it won't matter. I do not wear face powder in the summer because I have a tan. If we are going to dinner and I freshen up during the day, I will shower again and put on some eye makeup and make my hair look decent.

I'm another Bare Minerals foundation wearer. I also carry their powder sunscreen for reapplication on my face throughout the day. I find the sunscreen lotions tend to make me look greasy and make me break out, but I've never had that problem with their powder sunscreen and it does not get cakey when reapplied. I think they call it Natural Protection SPF 30.

I don't wear make up, so for me it was deodorant, sunscreen, brush teeth and hair. Hair went into a pony tail because it was long at the time. Of course a shower before heading out for the day or if we had gone swimming. Put a hat on my head and my glassed tint by themselves so no need to find the shades. It would take me about 15 minutes to get ready in the morning. Dear Hubby is always shocked when I say I'll be ready in 15 minutes and do walk out in 15 mintues or less.

Here's my 10-minute WDW "beauty regimen." The "packing list" necessary for it includes 12 items: toothbrush and toothpaste, body lotion, facial moisturizer, deodorant, comb, foundation, powder, lip gloss, eyeliner pencil, eyelash curler, and mascara.

- Shower/shave legs. Step out of shower and towel-dry hair.
- Brush and floss teeth. Apply body lotion (with sunscreen) and deodorant. Catch view of self in mirror and vow not to order dessert today. Get dressed.
- Comb and part hair, and tousle with fingers. Allow to air-dry, styling with hands as needed, for the next hour. (Your mileage may vary: I have thick, coarse hair that is typically cut into a or bob, so it needs almost nothing in terms of styling.)
- Apply facial moisturizer (containing sunscreen).
- Apply a light coat of foundation and powder. (Skip this step if you don't have heavily blemished and scarred skin, as I do.)
- Apply tinted lip gloss (with protectant) or Chapstick. Curl eyelashes and apply subtle eye makeup, if desired (I like the pencils with an eye shadow on one end and eyeliner on the other) and waterproof mascara.
- Do nothing with the nails. (I don't bother with fingernail polish -- I keep my fingernails a medium length, and well manicured, but I don't want the daily hassle of nail polish upkeep. For my toes, a couple of coats of a good non-chipping polish will hold me for the week, even in and out of socks and sneakers).
- Walk away, feeling rather fabulous, and have a wonderful day. Eat all of those desserts anyway. Unless going out to a fancy dinner, don't bother to reapply anything except sunscreen. Let your Florida-sun-kissed skin and smile be your most beautiful assets.

*A "park-touring beauty" tip for those who don't want to invest in oil blotters for their face: I used to buy them, but I've found that I can accomplish just as much with an ordinary restroom paper hand towel. Simply take a clean dry one, press it lightly to your forehead, nose, cheeks and chin in turn (hold it there for a couple of seconds, without rubbing), and it will absorb the oil from your face, without removing your makeup, in exactly the same way as a blotting paper.

My trick is to get a tan first (I do a combo of actual booth tanning and spray tanning - that way I get the protection from getting fried, but I don't have to tan in a booth so much to get as dark as I want). When my face it tan, I don't wear makeup. If we do dinner, I might wear a little mascara, but I usually avoid it because with the humidity I tend to end up looking like I have a black eye. What I do use for my eyes, though, is an eyelash curler to make it look like I'm wearing mascara because it perks up my eyelashes.

I also bring really good lotion. This year, I'm excited to bring that spray on lotion - I use it every day - I love that stuff! And, then I use a really good chapstick - Nivea usually. It ends up looking like lip balm (gloss), but it keeps my lips from getting sun burnt. I actually don't get a pedicure until we get back because it's after the trip that I need a good foot massage!

I have tried so many times to look like one of those people in the park that look perfect and fabulous...But I realized that's just not me! I do treat myself to a new nail polish or get a pedicure. I always bring my polarized sunglasses. I am also a fan of tinted moisturizer with spf and some MAC powder. I always do eye makeup and some lip gloss. But I have come to the reality that only the first few pictures look good then the day goes on and you look worse or you get wet! You could always try treating yourself to some hair accessory or a new hat. That way you can feel nice and look like you are put together in pictures.

In the real world, aka - the world away from Disney, I use foundation, powder, eyeliner and mascara with the occasional eye shadow and bronzer thrown in when I go out on the town. However in Disney, the past couple trips, I've decided it's pointless to try and glam myself before a day at the parks. It's just too hot some days! lol I use foundation and powder and maybe some eyeliner but that's it. I also don't take the time to straighten my hair every day because with the humidity it just turns into a big frizzball! I mostly wear it up now which I hate doing but it's better than walking around with an afro!! lol

I pretty much do the same thing I do at home...Mix moisturizer and foundation, mascara, light liner, blush (although I use liquid or gel in summer months, powder sweats away- Benefit has great ones). I usually lighten up on eye shadow and whatnot. But I always have lipstick/lipgloss and a TON of sunscreen, I just feel like a mess if I don't. I have very long hair, and I can't deal with having to worry about it falling or sticking to my neck when I'm sweating, so it's typically up in a ponytail or some sort of bun.

My biggest sacrifice at Disney is the following: I generally hate sneakers. Unless I am in yoga pants or yoga capris or something, I NEVER wear them with jeans or shorts, I prefer sandals and flip flops in the summer. So my sacrifice is that I will wear sneakers or even (clutching my pearls) CROCS throughout the park for the sake of comfort. So if I'm in comfis at WDW, I have no problem w/ sneakers, but if I have a cute outfit on and my sneakers, I feel 'off'...but comfy. It's a weird quirk, but who doesn't have one? ;)
