So happy :)

So excited! After months of persuading, my parents have agreed that for our 2013 holiday, we can stay onsite at Disney! :sohappy:
We've only been twice as a family and stayed offsite in a villa both times. I am totally psyched!
Our budget is pretty small, so we're looking at the values, maaaaaaaybe a moderate depending on how much we can save during that time. We want to go in Easter, as I'm at uni, and my mum and little sister go to the same primary school (mum works there), but we know the crowds will be packed. Do you think it's better to go before or after Easter? And which is your favourite value? I'm considered the planner in the family, despite being 19, because I'm obsessed with this site... so any help is welcome! :)

Yeah! A Disney trip in the planning stage! We have stayed at all the Value resorts and so far Pop Century is our favorite. You'll find this debated quite a bit but Pop has always worked best for us. We are staying at the newest value in Dec.. the Art of Animation and are very, very excited about that.

I would try to go before Easter. I know that the week of Easter is extremely busy so I definitely wouldn't want to travel during that time. You're going to have such a good time....and the planning is half the fun!

Congrats.

Well your right to be excited as staying inside " the magic bubble " is the only way to enjoy a total WDW vacation. As far as values goes Pop gets great reviews and I would imagine AoA will be very popular next year.My advice especially coming from the UK is shop around for the best package deal.We had Thomson holidays and Thomas Cook fighting it off for our deal and on the end,TC dropped their price by £660 for our 2 week vacation this year.

Now here is something to take into consideration! We used to stay at values (music/Pop) but you wont get free dining, for a 3 week stay we pay maybe £1000 more for the resort but with Free Dining we save £2500 so we come out £1500 better off! Staying in a value is def not always the cheapest option

Only for US customers :brick:

:O How unfair :(
Yes, I am planning to look at deals and plans. I really want to stay at Port Orleans Riverside, I just drool over their pictures. It all depends on how much money we have, last year was expensive for us due to medical problems :( It's so exciting to plan though, I'm looking forward to having more information to work with! :)

I would for sure try and get Art of Animation! Unfortunately, it is doubtful that anything free will be going on over the Easter weeks since it is such a busy time at the parks. But you will still have an amazing time! Staying on property is so fun! Yeah! :sohappy:

Hmm, that's unfortunate, might stay offsite for the first few days then move onsite, but that does mean having to rent a car.
Also, does it say anywhere a list of restaurants that don't accept the plan?

Ahh, that's good, my dad was worried it wasn't worth the extra money... hopefully the 2013 dining plan list isn't as different as the 2012 one :)

If anyone is interested, the plans are coming together :)
We are going 2nd April - 16th April and are staying at either PORS or POFQ :sohappy:
Hope it's alright if I use this thread to update and ask questions!
Concerning the river boats, when do they start and stop running? I imagine we will be using them alot, much less claustrophobic than the buses!

The rooms in the values are awful small. I think you'd be much happier in a villa. I know that when I went with two adults and two kids, I was. Much, much happier!

The values are very similar. You should pick the theme you like best and go with that.

If you all are hell-bent on a Disney hotel, though, do try for a moderate. They aren't that much bigger, but every foot helps when the rooms are that small. The mods are also less garish. Those brightly colored values get on the nerves after a bit.

IMHO! Have a great trip, whatever you all decide!
