So Disney just threw me a Hidden Mickey hard ball...

But lets say you're in a grocery store, on line, and some woman is yelling at another and their being rude and aruguing loudly yada yada yada, does the clerk say "I'm sorry about those two ma'am, take those groceries for free"

That has got to be one of the worst analogies I have ever heard.

You got a free room for complaining about crowds at Disney World?! Wow. I know a few people here who could live off of Walt Disney World just by constantly complaining and getting free rooms...

No...she complained about the horrible, obnoxious, rude, loud, unacceptable behavior from the Pop Warner group....the kind of behavior that CAN have a very negative affect on your trip, even if you are in the most magical place on earth. The behavior that Disney lets that group get away with, when they shouldn't. And she DID NOT ask for any compensation whatsoever. Disney volunteered to give her the two free nights....and she took them...who wouldn't??

Why is everyone so down on the OP? She had a very legitimate complaint, she did not ask or expect to be compensated, and then she posted something she thought was funny....never saying ANYTHING about wanting more or the two free nights not being enough.

The post wasn't to bash the OP (even though she did complain about the crowds [in this case pop warner crowds]). It was to send a message to the people who spend nothing but their day here at WDWMagic being negative and complaining constantly that not they can live off their talent in WDW.

I just don't get why everyone in this country thinks they should get something for nothing? I deal with annoying people all the time in WDW but I don't demend free stuff. Disney should't have to give you a free night for rude guests.

You're right figment, Disney shouldn't be giving away free nights due to rude guests. They should identify those groups that are consistently a problem and deal with them accordingly.

I too am waiting to hear from Disney regarding the issues we had during our stay, which included their failure to prevent non paying guests from being in the MK during MVMCP.

I've been to about 65 hard ticket events since 2007, running from Pirate & Princess and the Halloween and Christmas parties. I never had an issue with non-ticketed guests before. During the first 30 minutes of the party, Disney has a system in place to check wristbands and require those guests without one to exit the park. In fact, it's not uncommon to be checked multiple times, even if one was sitting in the same location during this process.

So, out of curiosity, what happened during your visit?

I agree you should of received the compensation, but be glad you got what you did!!! I am sure many others who stayed during that time probably did not.

You're an idiot. Disney absolutely should have compensated her for what happened. They created the atmosphere by not adequately monitoring the bad behavior of a group and by allowing it to affect the vacations of hundreds of other guests. It is not as if they aren't aware of the poor behavior of these groups (generally speaking). It should not be incumbent on me, you or any other individual guest to make inquiries about what rowdy guests will be visiting so you can pick alternate dates. Disney should have policies in place to protect all guests and do its best to make sure that guests aren't being harassed. If that means banning a group from visiting, so be it. That slot can be filled with another group...maybe one that is more well behaved.

If I go to the movies and someone talks on their phone the whole time, should I just be expected to sit there and have to put up with it should management refuse to deal with it? Yes, I can leave. But I should be able to get my money back. My experience was ruined, not only by the rude person on the phone, but by management for not dealing with it. A smart manager would ask them to leave, and in addition give me a free movie pass, ensuring I return and spend more money.

That's real mature. You are questioning my intelligence when you are incapable of having an intelligent conversation without throwing around insults. I just have a hard time believing that a group of cheerleaders ruined an entire vacation. If you can't talk like an adult you should keep your opinions to yourself. IT IS TIME TO GROW UP AND LEARN THAT NOT EVERYONE AGREES WITH YOU.

Our last visit to WDW was in July. We stayed at the ASMusic. This was our 3rd stay as a family at the All Stars and had never had a problem. This year was HORRIBLE!!! The tour groups ran crazy all hours of the night, screaming, pounding on doors, knocking you over to get to the elevators. The room's AC was broke (in July) took 2 days to fix. The exhaust fan in the bathroom started smoking. Around our area (Broadway section) the outside was litered with trash on a daily basis. I did go to the front desk and recieved no help. I was told that they were booked and could not move us to another room. My parents and brother stayed at the Shades of Green and we found ourselves only sleeping and showering at the ASMusic b/c of the problems. When I returned from vacation I emailed Disney about our problems. I never ASKED for ANYTHING!!!! I simply told them our issues and how disappointed I was. I stated that I hope management could take my letter and use it for a learning tool. I did not expect anything more that a apology. I received a phone call from a representive and also a follow up letter with 3 day hooper passes and 2 night stay at any All Star Resorts. I do not feel bad for accepting what Disney is offering me. I am hoping that our next WDW vacation is a good one.
If you write a letter to Disney that does not mean you are asking for anything in return. You have every right to complain, write letters, and to let your vacation destination know if you are satisified with their service. You paid hard earned money for your vacations, I did not want another family to expierence what we did.

So, some of you may remember that I posted how Disney gave me 2 free rooms for one night as compensation for all the c*ap we put up with with the Pop Warner nightmares.......so, I get the letter today in the mail and it states "here is confirmation for your two rooms yadda yadda....but it CAN NOT be combined w/ any other offer like free Diney Dining..."

HUH? You gave me this as compensation for the c*ap we put up with but I cant combine it with another offer....hmm OK....thank you....I think.

Im cracking up laughing... :ROFLOL:

I'm gonna side with you on this one xtina, it's funny how these things work. They make you think like you're getting a deal when in actuality you really not. Say you want to get free dinning for your next trip and lets say you save $300, and pay full price for your room. Now you call and complain about a horrible experiences you had while you were down there and they quite you down by giving you 2 free rooms, great!? kinda but not really. What would be great is if they refunded a night or 2 from your previous visit, but getting money back isn't that easy.

IMO you should take advantage of the 2 free nights and try to get down for a long weekend or something, maybe 2-4 nights.

This is the kind of stuff that Disney should compensate for.

We had a room at POP near the pool and people were yelling and screaming till 3 AM. We called the front desk and were given a new location. Question to the OP. Did you even attempt to change your room?

 Pandoras box was opened with you just giving an opinion how you felt about this! :lookaroun I am happy for you! My wife and I had some problems in"06 at PO, and I really did not know I could go ask to be moved, and did not mail in a complaint. I sure would not "look" for any "free pass". I know that you did not either! As much as there has been complaints about the PW groups, DISNEY should take care of this, they might be making X amount with these groups, but Y amount is from others like you and I! Giving out free things will at some point come back and haunt you. I also have one question, can you combine this free packet if you wanted to do extra days that you pay for?

If Disney would do this then they would not have to compensate guests. The reality is that they know about the issues with these groups but they turn a blind eye until they have no choice but to act. (ie when the team from Hawaii was removed from property due to fighting in 2007) It wouldn't take much to make things at the resorts better. Have half a dozen or so either uniformed or plain clothes security guards with the authority to act accordingly wandering around the resorts with these groups. Once a few groups leave the All Stars in the back of police cars the problem will go away.

A simpler solution to dealing with these issues would be to not stay at the value resorts. You know what you are getting yourself into, and if you don't, thats on you. There are plenty of ways to find out when large groups of kids are going to be staying the value resorts. I would never ever stay at a resort where pop warner or a group like them were staying. It is asking for trouble.

Yea but it should't be that way. I will never stay at any value again but it shouldn't be that way. Heck I would never stay anything under deluxe but the GF will never let me :brick:

While I follow this practice myself it is not a solution to the problem. If you were to order fish at a nice steak restaurant and it was not good would an acceptable explanation be "Well you should have know better than to order fish here." People will spend a considerable amount of money to have a Disney vacation at a value resort. They expect a clean room and a relatively quiet stay. When groups of kids are allowed to raise hell at all hours of the night it is unacceptable. It would not fly at a motel 6 and it certainly unacceptable at any Disney resort.

Let me get this straight....I DID NOT COMPLAIN ABOUT THE CROWDS...NO, you are INCORRECT!

I complained to Disney that these kids were outside our rooms practicing their cheers at 12 midnight, screaming past our rooms at 1am and knocking and running at 2am...on. Then they had the fun game of running up to little kids in the food court (my son included), screaming into their faces and running away laughing....while we are sitting there trying to eat.

6am "wake up calls" from these same girls lining up past everyone's room windows and then clapping and screaming on top of there lungs "HERE WE GO (insert school name here) HERE WE GO!!!!" clapping and shaking their maracas. I was walking back from the food court, this lady was in front of me, two of them walk past me, bump me, walk past her, bump her, the woman says "Excuse me" the one girl turns around and says "F**k you B**Ch" this woman was stunned. I said to her "be thankful their not YOUR kids." Then we open our door one morning to find a pile of McDonalds garbage against our door, I look down to the other doors and they did the same to them also.

yes, all of this was called into the front desk, they were frazzled by all the calls, I think they were pretty overwhelmed.... I feel I had ever right to complain!!!

But why shouldn't I? We are a group of six people every year, we need two rooms and that's very costly even in a moderate resort, I should be able to stay wherever I want and not have to deal w/ that abuse.
