So Disney just threw me a Hidden Mickey hard ball...

A simpler solution to dealing with these issues would be to not stay at the value resorts. You know what you are getting yourself into, and if you don't, thats on you. There are plenty of ways to find out when large groups of kids are going to be staying the value resorts. I would never ever stay at a resort where pop warner or a group like them were staying. It is asking for trouble.

Did you ask to be moved?

So you are saying if you call and ask if pop warner or cheerleading will be at a particular resort, they won't tell you?

You have an idealistic way of looking at this problem, I wish disney would adopt a policy like that. The fact is though, they will not. This has been a problem for a long time, it has not been addressed, and will not be addressed.

So the only real solution is to find out if those groups will be at the resort, if they will be, then do not go there.

Except that if you read around the forums you'd see that most people have said(and I'm pretty sure I've seen it elsewhere) that the reservation people and/or call center isn't even located at WDW and they don't have info on what groups are staying where. Not to mention, my problems were in the parks, not at the resorts. We stayed at Pop and had a pretty nice time there, other than the crappy dryers which I think they rig so you have to spend more.

I'll wager 90% of them will not even know and to take it one step further I'll bet half of that 90% will not even know what Pop Warner is.

The solution is to do exactly what the OP did. Let them know and let it cost Disney money.

I see your logic but will it work? They make a lot more money off of these groups than a family of 6.

When I called to book my next trip, the person I spoke to said to me "we are never informed of any special events or when they are happening and that includes Pop Warner and Christmas Day parade tapeings, we also do not know where the groups are booked to stay." (PW and CDPT were the two things I asked about)

I have a question.

Not just you experienced the bad Pop Warner groups- so what gives you the right to have a room?

It isn't your fault for complaining, but that reward is a bit overboard for something that happened to many- not just you.

I can not believe they do not know when the hotel is booked by large groups. If they are instructed not to tell potential costumers then that is ridiculous.

If this is the case, then we are down to 1 solution, avoid the values all together.

Off of one family of 6 sure. Off of two...three...four? Then it gets fuzzy.

I would wager that a family of 6 spends more per person than the Pop Warner kids and that is more important than 50 tween vs. a family of 4.

I 100% agree with you. This is the first I have heard of someone complaining. If more and more people do that could happen. Someone should sart a down with Brazil and Cheeleader movement.

*shrug* I wrote an email...the representative for Disney called and that was it...there was NO yelling, NO demanding, nothing of the sort, what would you have done? turned it down?

Would I have done it? No. I know how teens can be- I am a teen. I can deal with it and I know I'm not the only one complaining.

Would I turn it down? No, but I'd feel a little guilty that families who go through much worse during their vacation bust their butts to stay for a week and you get a 2 night stay for free. See what I'm saying?

I would have accepted it graciously and left it at that - not come on here and complained (joked?) that you can't add free dining to it or any other special...take your 2 free rooms and be happy!

I wouldn't have.

I would rather Disney overcompensate than tell their guest "tough ________".

Makes me think I should have complained more about my DVC neighboor throwing his mattress in the hall at OKW this weekend!

Come back after you have matured and become a parent and see how you "deal" with these groups when they have affected your child.

I don't see what you're saying at all. Yes, we all know how teens can be. And if they're going to act rude and disruptive then it is Disney's responsibility to deal with them. If they don't, then they will have to deal with the consequences of people complaining.

 It's really not much of a story. We came back to our room early afternoon Saturday and there was a mattress out by the stairwell. It got a raise eyebrow, but we went back out and didn't think much of it.

We got back around 8 pm to head to bed for the marathon and it was still there. I called housekeeping and they apologized about it. I went out to the car about 15 minutes and it was already gone.

I don't know why it was out there, how it got there, and where it came from. Disney was very prompt about getting rid of it.

I thought about getting antsy and complaining that they should have noticed it during housekeeping rounds that morning, until I realized that it didn't appear until after housekeeping was done for the day.

Sorry if this has been said. I didn't read all of the posts. Why not take the free nights and book that as one ressie and then book another ressie for the remainder of your stay where you can apply any other discounts.

I don't think it is Disney's fault that the groups are unruly. But, it is their responsibility to take care of it so EVERY guest feels comfortable. They need to address it with them. I hope they have clear, cut rules in place and if these rules are violated, they should be asked to stop or leave the premises.
