So disappointed in our AAA office

I called last Tuesday for a quote for Dec of 2008 (yes that far off). I had to leave a message. I guess I missed them for the day. I finally heard back on Thursday. She took the info and said she would call back. Here it is Monday and I still haven't heard from her. I did the online quote too. I got an email y'day with a price for this Dec so I replied that I needed it for next year. So I just now got another email with the right date, but was told All Star Sports isn't available. Only Pop. Ummmmm I asked for Pop in the first place. :fork: After getting the quote and working the numbers myself on Disney's site they are only saving us around $61. That just doesn't seem like much. I'm wondering if they did something wrong with the quote.

I told my hubby that when we are ready to book we are calling Elizabeth and KK!!! She really knows her stuff! (thanks Elizabeth for all the help on the phone last week!)

Yikes, sounds like you are not having a good time with them which is really too bad.

Personally I have had luck with AAA, but I think that is because of the actual agent that I use and not the office. Sounds like AAA is catch as catch can. Who wants the hassel though. They are really telling you how much they appreciate your busniess by not calling you back. You are probably best with choosing another agency because $61 really does not sound like a lot. You should be saving 15-20% on your hotel with AAA so unless you had a really short trip something was not quoted correctly.

Good luck with your finaly plans and have fun!

I called my AAA office for a quote on a package for late April '08... the agent I talked to called me back promptly. Her price was only about $350 less than Disney's price for room, tickets and dining plan (which I'm still on the fence about using due to the changes :fork: ). Since I've heard not too great things about AAA travel, I decided to book room only at the AAA rate through Disney, and switch to a package if a discount is released for our dates/resort. You could always try that; have KK book you room only then change to a package as it gets closer and the codes come out. Did you nix the Shades of Green idea?

Yeah, we decided that with all the extra stuff we would have to pay for SoG just wasn't for us. We actually can get Pop cheaper w/o dining but we may end up adding it. I may also look into a mod (if we can swing it) because I loved POFQ.

I did talk to Elizabeth about booking room only then adding a package when codes come out or getting our tickets at our base before we go. We have a long time to decided what we are doing.

I'm not willing to bet my vacation on AAA's service. Having Marie at KK book us. Just heard too many horror stories regarding AAA. I've yet to hear a single negative thing about KK both on and off this board.

AAA book my last two trips to Disney and did a great job. I went into the local office and talked to the agent in person. They book the room, tickets and the dinning plan. It was the best two trip to Disney that my family has very had.

I've a;ways booked through Disney, I have checked AAA but I have been quoted the same price or lower with Disney. Last year my GF booked through AAA, it was the same price as booking with Disney so no savings except my GF works for AAA so she got a rebate for using them and since they are in the same building she can walk upstairs to see the agent who is a friend of hers anyway. But I'm not impressed with AAA at all and I have lots of experience with them.

Honestly, even if KK did not save me a dime the fact that they book all my meals, character dinners and excursions make them the best in my book.

you can private message me for the "single negative thing" re my first experience booking 6 rooms at WDW in eons. Publicly I'll just say I was disappointed. And, as far as AAA is concerned, I used their on-line quote form about 10 days ago; still haven't heard back so decided to call my local AAA office. Much better response. Due to the interaction with KK, I will probably lock in with AAA - local office.

Some AAA offices are great and have Disney specialists, some are not as good. But the discount isn't always huge - and if a discount comes out, then the price should be exactly the same as you (or another TA) can get.

It's really nice to hear that so many people are happy with our service. I am glad that Kingdom Konsultants is able to make almost everyone's trips enjoyable.

Like to go on the record as saying I'm still quite comfortable booking through Kingdom Konsultants.

Funny coincidence, their mailing address is only a few miles from where I live.

Just curious to know which office you've used because I've always used the local CT AAA with great luck. The only time we ran into an issue was when the person I've always dealt with was out so I worked with another agent (which ended up costing me more than what it should have!). To make a long story short, I will never "cheat" on my travel agent again! She has always ensured that we have the best and worry-free trip. I was never that good in booking things myself.....:hammer:

I love my AAA agent. She's been a big help to us at least 3 times for vacations. But, if she were not available, I would go with KK after their great reputation on these boards. Personally, I would never directly book with Disney. I know of too many people who have had bad experiences when they book directly with Disney. [Wrong resort, ect...]

I used AAA online to get a quote and I had to let them know of a couple errors they made in quoting me. First, they added hopper tickets and I know I told them base because I never gotten hopper tickets (ok, maybe once). Second, they didn't quote me for the type of view I requested. I wanted waterview but they quoted me standard. They did then end up quoting me with the requests I asked for after I pointed it out. I have also used them in the past and without going into a lot of detail, I put in a complaint against the agent. I was only using their online quoting system to comparison shop, anyways. I will never book with them again. :fork:

Hmm...well, I'm not sure exactly what your dates are, how many days you're planning to go, if you're got at DDP, what kind of tickets you have, etc. Personally, I just purchased our rooms only through AAA online. Purchased for stay for 12/11 until 12/19 at POP for $65.60 a night. You have to realize too, pricing for lodging, tickets, etc. has gone up since beginning of August. Instead of purchasing everything at once, I would either purchase your package directly through Disney and give them your AAA info so they can apply the discount, or just purchase everything individually. I'm going to WDW a lot longer, doing a lot more activities/events, and paying less then what I paid originally through a package through expedia.com. If you're going to WDW during the week of Christmas/New Years, then you will not get a discount since it will be during the most crowded time of the year. (Following Easter afterwards.)

I actually paid more using AAA (one time) than booking directly with Disney! Now I book all of my travel with the great team at KK. Their service is amazing and I love the fact that if a discount is released they will automatically rebook my reservation at the lower rate.
