So annoyed...

So I just recently took at trip to Fort Myers and when going to hop on my return flight, I was presented with the opportunity to be bumped to the next day and receive two free round trip airfares to anywhere that they flew for the next year. Being that I was planning a vacation to WDW in October and the time off from work, I jumped at the opportunity. Who wouldn't want free plane tickets for me and my honey to go to the happiest place on earth??

So fast forward to this evening. I just made a few ADR's that I had been super excited to make and hoping that we got. Was floating on Cloud 9 and decided to book the free flights too as they said to book as early in advance as possible. The gentleman I received on the phone would barely let me speak, then made me repeat everything I said about 3 times and kept saying my name wrong. :brick: After all that frustration, he informs me that I can only use the vouchers for myself...not for a free flight for my guest. None of this was ever stated when I agreed to take them.

I am so angry. Even though I know we are still saving money, I feel like I was lied to just so they could get me off the flight. I'm over this airline as it is and don't even want to fly with them now. It has deflated my sails from getting the ADR's I just got...:(

Were you both on the flight from Fort Meyers? If not, I personally don't see anything wrong with what they did here. And unless you had asked about using one for someone else, you really can't be mad at them, but that's my 2 cents.

Actually yes I had. Due to the fact that I'm not a big or frequent flyer, I knew that I would most likely not being using both for myself. The woman who was working had told me that yes, it could be used for another person as long as they were on the same flight as me.

I would really call back and try to talk to someone else then.

For DTD the first day, I got Ragland Road. It was a toss up between that and Paradiso 37, but I haven't heard the greatest things about it.

Crystal Palace for our first real day there. BF is a big Pooh fan so that was the main one I wanted. Tusker House for breakfast later on in the trip, Sci Fi and Ohana for dinner one night.

Dinner at O'Hana is very coveted, so great job! I've heard nothing but amazing things about Raglan Road, so even better there. Your other choices sound deelish too, so I think you've done a phenomenal job! P.S. Where's your Epcot dining, though :lookaroun :D

Good choice. I found Paradiso to be very, very bland.

Good choices, except for Sci-Fi, IMO. I hate Sci-Fi for some reason.

Wow really? I didn't know that about Ohana. Epcot hasn't been booked yet as it is during the F&W Festival and I know I usually fill up on booth food.

I've been dying to get an OHana ressie for my honeymoon in early/mid September (slow season) and cannot find one! You're VERY lucky.

Whenever I don't like the answer I get on the phone when booking anything, I thank them, hang up and call back the next day.

That way I can either confirm what they were telling me is correct. This also gives me an opportunity to change my approach, explaining what I'd like to accomplish to a different operator.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but its always worth a try.

Don't know what airline you were on, but I was once voluntarily bumped by Delta and got a $400 voucher in return. I used it to purchase two $200 r/t tix to Orlando for my and my hubby. No conditions on it, it was as good as cash.

I would try calling the airline again, and see if you get someone more helpful/informed.

Yes I got Ohana's on my honeymoon, right in front of the castle windows during wishes. The best ADR I made the whole trip besides California Grill. I got to see the fireworks with both dinners.

I have had lunch at Ragland, but not dinner. I love the little outdoor pub that is attached to Ragland. They server black and tan, Guinness/Bass. The Guinness floats on top of the Bass, my favorite drink.

I would definitely call the airline back. You did them the favor by being bumped. IF you should get the same guy again, just ask to speak with his supervisor! Me myself, I would have done it right then when I was speaking to him the first time....lol....but that is just me! :goodnevil

It should make no difference who is using the ticket. They gave you 2 free tickets, it will not make any difference with whether you are the one using it or someone else who is traveling with you!

That's the more infuriating part....I DID ask to speak with his manager and he wouldn't connect me!

It was Spirit and I'm officially over them.

I've worked in customer service for many years, and hearing that is completely horrifying. I can't imagine refusing to let someone talk to my manager - you're just asking to get fired. The fact that he wouldn't do it goes to show he KNOWS he's doing a bad job. Plus you'll probably call back anyway and speak with a manager, which will make him look 10x worse than if he'd just sent you to a manager in the first place. It astounds me that people behave this way when 10% of the country is unemployed and there are people that would give 110% and jump through flaming hoops for ANY job right now.

You need to call back and tell them the whole story - that you have had nothing but terrible customer service experiences. You inconvenienced yourself by missing a flight to help their company, and when you specifically asked if the tickets could be used for another person, were told by the first employee that you could. The second employee was completely apathetic and uncooperative and wouldn't let you use your ticket in the way that was promised. Airlines are hurting right now, and I would tell them nicely, but firmly that they will never see another dollar of your money if they don't let you use that ticket in the way originally promised.

That's so frustrating! If you did them a favor and moved yourself to another flight, and they gave you 2 free tickets, that makes it sound like you & another person can fly somewhere together. You definitely need to call back and ask to talk to a manager again, but before you even tell them the story. That's crazy that they wouldn't connect you.

Well onto the good points! Your ADR's are great! Ohana is very good - and I agree that it's tough to get . I'm visiting for the second time next week. We couldn't get the ADR online, it was full. However when we called, they were able to fit us in. Tusker House is the only one I haven't been to - the rest on your list I've really liked! You'll have a great visit, despite the airline stuff. I hope it all gets worked out for you.

Sorry to hear about the rude service you were given, iwould definitely call back and go right to a manager, and am pretty sure they would fix it as the more you complain, the mre they want to resolve the situation, at least for me.

Ohanas is awesome. Try to get a table in front of the window to see the fireworks if you booked it for that time. Paridiso, blah. Sci fy, ok, but not really my thing.
Have a great time!
