Snow White Mine Train opening?

Hi everyone!

I'm visiting Magic Kingdom February 1st, does anyone know the status of Snow White's Mine Train?

Will it be open?

No, it will not be open yet.

Original plans called for a potential soft opening during the 2013 Holiday Season. Construction delays pushed that back. Then the plan was going to be in time for the 2014 Spring Break season. This still may be possible, but probably unlikely. In my opinion, soft opens, cast previews, and AP previews may start sometime after the busy Easter holiday with a full grand opening sometime around Memorial Day Weekend to welcome the summer crowds and to give Disney something to put in the news to attempt to rival Universal's Harry Potter expansion opening this summer. After all, what else beside full scale MyMagic+ / Fastpass+ roll out would Disney have to put up against it. That's just my speculation though.

Looking for something new to see on your Disney visit? You will be able to take your picture with the brand new slab of concrete just uncovered east of the Plaza Restaurant. The previous location of a flower and tree planter. If that is not enough to compete with the recent and new Universal offerings more concrete was poured to replace trees and flowers near the Crystal Palace. You can also visit with the fine Disney cast all over the Disney Parks that will explain the wonders of all the junk associated with the rubber bands that you will not be able to use at Universal. [sarc] 2 to 3 billion in action.

MK went 11 years without a new ride before Mermaid opened.
AK will not have had a new ride in 11 years when Avatar opens.
Epcot has gone 10 years without a completely new ride, no new on in site.
DHS has gone 6 years without a completely new ride, again no new on in site.

You forgot to mention, you have to book your picture with the concrete slab 60 days out, or if staying offsite, wait at a kiosk for 30 minutes and HOPE you can still FP your picture with the concrete...

I am looking more toward soft openings at Easter with lotsa "bugs" to work out of the system. I would say by summer ( late) 2014 it will be up and running. Just MHO.;)

I was talking to a CM in Magic Kingdom on Monday and she said their rumor is there will be a "soft" opening in February. I know............but one can hope?
