Sneaky Magic Ninja Friends...

Can I add to the :snore:

Miss Mia decided that sleeping alone is no fun. Everytime I would lay here down she would sleep for 1/2 hour max. Nothing would make her happy except being held. I finally gave in around 4:30 and let her sleep with me in the recliner.

She is still crying everytime I put her down. DH went back to work today, so I'm on my own until MIL comes in Wed. Hopefully the day will get better.

Chrissy try swaddling her in her blanket. You know the blanket wrapped around her not tight but not loose either. She might want that close warm feeling again like she had in the womb.

I tried it.:( I also put her in her car seat (usually makes her happy) but that didn't work either. I think at first she was really gassy and uncomfortable, but I don't know why she continued to fuss all night.

((Hugs)) Chrissy - Joel was just like that - didn't want to be in the bassinet, needed that touch from mama. Can't tell you how many nights he and I slept in the Lazyboy. :hammer: Hang in there hon - she'll outgrow it.

Hey Chrissy! Yeah sometomes they do that. Could be colic, could be just gas. I hated when mt girls did that when they were babies.

Well just hold her and love her. I know you don't get anything done at that point but it won't spoil her. Not yet anyways.
Or you can let her cry for about 5 minutes , then pick her up and then put her in her crib but let her know you are there, let her cry again and then get her and so on.

It's good to know I'm not the only one to have this problem. I felt like such a failure last night because I just couldn't comfort her. I was crying right along with her :o

I hope I can figure something out because I feel bad for her. She seemed so uncomfortable.

You are not a bad mom. You are not alone in this. We are here.

I can definetly give her lots of love. :) Luckily my MIL will be here Wed, so she can help me out at night and hold her while I sleep a little.

You are NOT a failure - you're a new mommy, and there isn't a single book out there that will tell you the 'right' thing to do for YOUR child. She is unique, she has her own needs. It would be nice if there was a manual that comes with each baby, but we basically have to wing it. :animwink:
Not only did Joel and I share a recliner, very often he'd be laying right up against me in my bed...I didn't sleep much, but he did. It was what worked for him.

Thanks Susan! I don't think I was really prepared for how tough these first couple weeks are.

Not to mention you are physically recovering from the whole pregnancy/birth thing too...and your hormones are still going nuts at times. :hammer: Don't hesitate to share with any of us if you need to talk about anything.

I just searched the one baby forum that I go to and there were so many people saying their baby is doing the exact same thing. I may call the pediatrician to see if I can try some mylicon or other gas drops.

Thanks Jen! Hormones are definetly in full effect here! I think I'm going to attempt to lay her down nd take a really really quick shower.

Thanks for the help and encouragement!
