Snake-Like Creature (and Ellen) gone from Universe of Energy

I feel like despite its age Ellen is much more culturally relevant today than Bill Nye. Do they even show Bill Nye videos in schools anymore? Did he make the jump to DVD? Has anyone seen him lately? To say he hasn't aged gracefully would be an understatement.
I totally agree with you. I think Ellen is hilarious and she is far more relevant today Bill Nye is. But I actually have seen him do the occasional television interview. There is a great video of him proving the folks at Fox News wrong. Regardless, I'm glad to have heard of some thematically appropriate things going into Future World. Hopefully it will outweigh the travesty going on in the Norway pavilion.

I read/heard somewhere pretty recently that they do have things in mind for the attraction within the next 3-4 years. Basically along the lines of a strictly Bill Nye hosted refurb. At this point, I am down for anything. Just so long as they don't touch the building. Which will most likely not happen anyway. Maybe ditch the ride vehicles/screens and make it into a Energy themed dark ride? The current 45 minute length is a little too much, in my opinion.
I say bring in Neil Degrasse Tyson from Cosmos.

I don't believe a celebrity host for an attraction is a good thing anymore. Ellen and Bill Nye hosting UoE (but I do love this version too), Eric Idle in JII, and Martin Short in O Canada, etc. The whole idea seems kind of 90's/early 2000s. And we all know how crazy those years were in terms of the parks redevelopment. Disney movies during that time, however, on a whole different level (a good level).

I actually still absolutely love the Ellen and Bill version. I've always found it funny and entertaining. As a child, I was always a Beakman kid, and when I first saw Bill Nye in school, despite everyone talking about how much they loved him, I wasn't a fan. It seemed like a much more boring show in comparison. All my love for Bill Nye and nostalgia for him is linked to Universe of Energy. I finally realized that recently and it made me chuckle.

Neil Degrasse Tyson is amazing, but not for here. A redo of Imagination where the focus is on how creativity inspired mankind's progress? A mythical new version of Horizons? Expanded Space pavilion? Stuff like that could use some Tyson up in this piece.

A true Space pavilion would be perfect for him. Maybe even Spaceship Earth. In all honesty he did such a good job on Cosmos which covered various subjects so he could be a good fit for more than one of the pavilions imo. Except Imagination, that's Dreamfinder and Figment teritory.

Absolutely this, or

a ride co-hosted by him and bill nye would be the absolute best science experience

This would be amazing. I love hearing these two guys, they're so interesting and make learning fun. Imagine a cosmos ride, with neat little experiments (exploding star, colliding asteroids, etc, the science behind them) interjected by bill nye... I'd love to see that happen.

:inlove:

Very true, Mike. I'm ok with him getting an entire pavilion ;) get the science channel to sponsor it. Or NASA. Or, well, the possibilities for sponsors are really kinda endless for a space and science pav, no?

Tyson's got a good sense of humor. I wonder if he'd mind donning a top hat and fake beard...

energy is in the same camp as main street electrical parade, limping along till it just falls apart.
This really is sad. Maelstrom closing and UoE just being left to rot. If it goes too all I'll have left is Spaceship Earth, Living with the Land, and the American Adventure. Epcot is just straying further and further down the wrong path.
