I don't know if it was just my groups opinion but when we were on the monorails this August we all thought it stunk of Band-Aids !!!!! I don't ever remember all the Monorails reminding me of past injuries!

I'm quite surprised that nobody in here has mentioned the WDW "Smellitizer"... That's where all the real magic happens. I think they first used it to create the Orangey Horizons smell (how I miss that) and now it's all over the place.

On another note, one of the most familiar Disney smells to me is that of stale popcorn...I don't know why but for some reason I find myself noticing this quite often.

And the TURKEY LEGS (sigh.....)

I also share this like and dislike of certain smells of disney. My favorite would probably be the pirates of the caribbean with my least favorite smell of the skunk at the new journey into imagination-with figment.

Yes. I attached a pic of the one from Horizons on another thread somewhere about smells of Disney.

These are used all over WDW. SE, HM, UoE, KRR, Mainstreet, Living w/the Land, JII, and others. Usually you can feel a slight draft before the smell.

Some of my favorites are the jasmine scented fog on KRR, eucoliptus(sp) on HM, and the waffle cone smell on Mainstreet.

Here is the link for that pic of the smellitzer from Horizons (it's halfway down the page):

I thought of another place that has a unique smell that I love! DAK Lodge, at the bottom of the steps by Boma (and Jiko)...I assume it's a smell mostly from the cooking (all those cool spices) but it smells really good to me...

I love the smell of the candy store on Main St. I also like the smell of the bakery, first thing in the morning, it smells like, victory.

What I dont like the smell of , and it never fails I always get this, is the smell of cat urine on the monorails. If you ever see a cat on a monorail, do me a favor and take it to the kennel.

does anyone remember in the old version ( the 1st version) that there was a smell of like perfume that they put in? I remember that and I loved going on it to smell that smell. I remember it towards the spooky room and it have like a box that would open up and the smell would come out. I think:lookaroun .

You're all making me so excited! Just 29 days...sigh...

On the subject of going with your parents, I think it's great. We're going with my mother-in-law. She is divorced, lives alone, loves Disney- so it makes sense that we all go together. I'm looking forward to it. My brother-in-law is going too so we'll have a nice even number.

I never stopped to think that the cookie smell on Main Street might be fake

I REALLY like that musty dungeony smell as you walk into Pirates. It's one of my favorites. Same thing with Dinosaur!

I admit it - I'm a RABID Figment fan! And I also have lots and lots of favorite Disney smells. That said, I really dislike the skunk smell at JII w/ Figment. Its only saving grace is that it seems to be ventilated quickly (at least it doesn't last as long as a real skunk blast! )

That made me mad too when I first heard it. I want to scream on Main Street when people are like "Ohh, that smells soooo good. I want a cookie..." and say "DON'T GIVE IN! It's only a way for them to make you hungry so you'll spend $$!" :p

Part of the waffle cone smell is from the ice cream shop, making waffle cone bowls and such. But, not nearly as strong.. for an example, visit Wonder of Life when they're making real waffles.

Yeah, you're right Rob! I never noticed that. Disney is really smart to think this stuff up. They know exactly how to get you to spend money! Drench you on a water ride, and then have you walk through a clothing store to get off the ride. Have delicious smells leaking through everywhere to make you hungry and buy their expensive food. :slurp:
