The turrets look much better when they re not solid blue but why do they look so plasticky? I know the sun will tone down all the colors but it looks like they went with a different material on the turret shingles. The brick color scheme is growing on me.
I'm wondering if they just look plasticky against the overcast sky. When I was there this past weekend the ones I saw didn't look plasticky.

It’s such a fantasy color palette for such a real architecturally inspired castle. The subtler pink just worked better with the architecture and the rest of the land. It reminds me of Disneyland Paris’ castle which, while beautiful and works wonderfully for Paris, is designed specifically to be fantastical in every way due to the proximity of real castles.

I wonder if we’ll ever see the original gray castle scheme ever again?

I agree, these new colors make it look like a toy, especially that new cream color. I’d have to see it in person, but these photos aren’t selling me.

A more subtle pink tone would be my preference as well. Craigievar in Scotland comes to mind. It’s pink, but not in a cutesy way. It’s just a pretty structure.

Or even something like this would be nice as well:

Not sure how I’m feeling about the blue palettes either.

I recall reading somewhere that this refurb would see the tops of the towers replaced with cast replicas. That close-up photo on the last page seems to confirm that they no longer feature real shingles but rather one solid rooftop that is meant to resemble shingles from a distance.
