Skyway Station Area Redesign

In a park of great transitions it is impressively bad. They have never focused on improving it either.

This is exactly why I would love to see the speedway demolished. It could solve the transition issue mostly and it's prime real estate. Just take a look at google earth and see how huge it is, especially if you include the walkway area behind the speedway.

Agreed...its past its prime.

I think they could make a "virtual" speedway attraction to keep the spirit alive and have a much smaller footprint, so they can do other things in that area.

Oh I agree with you and Chris (below but I can't double quote on a mobile). For quality of attraction speedway falls way short, takes up huge real estate, and is utter noise pollution. However, with the 300 million expansion currently underway I would want to see Disney pour money into Hollywood Studios or Future World at Epcot before ripping out a popular kiddie attraction at the MK.

This statement is made without any engineering knowledge, but why couldnt' they do an underground speedway with cool lights and show scenes using electric cars? The entrance could be in Tomorrowland and then they could use the above ground space for a new attraction or two and a better transition between the lands.

Would be way more futuristic than what is there now. Maybe Tron underground lightcycles on the grid! Sorry, just one man's fanboy dream.

I like the concept. There are lots of obstacles to overcome, like the water table and possible interference with the tunnels, but its doable.

Then they would fulfill jt04's lifelong dream of an undergound attraction, with more attractions on top of it.

Wasn't aware of that as I don't see his posts.:lookaroun
High water table makes sense though.

Looks like the Pan Queue modifications were just for an accessible ramp. Not surprising, I'd be surprised they would demo the restrooms before the new ones are finished.
