Because all of the prep, shopping and card sending falls on my shoulders.
As well as all the food shopping and cooking.
Oh wow...my mom has to do all that too...not alone though  We have to help but for us that's half the fun sometimes :)

The only help I usually get is decorating the tree and the outside lights.
I have to fight for help with everything else and well, its usually not worth it.

Aw I'm sorry :(

I'll admit, the outside lights are something my parents and brother take care of. But my sister and I have to do the tree, the village (or actually metropolis  ). We have to help her cook the gallina...ohh gallina :slurp:...and I have to wrap the presents . My one condition though is that I have to play MY Christmas music. So if my mom wants help, she has to hear *NSYNC :lookaroun

Other than the Christmas tree (and ornaments that go on it), it's my favorite decoration!

I usually do most of it too, but I'm learning (after 22 years) to cut down somewhat. I really pared down the Christmas card list, I don't bake half as many cookies as I used to, I still do 95% of the shopping, and I still do all of the decorating. I try to space it all out though so I'm not so overwhelmed. :xmas:

Christmas time at our house:
  • Mom and Dad shop
  • Dad cooks
  • Mom, sister, and I bake
  • I decorate
  • Mom writes Christmas cards
  • I make a picture collage for said cards
Not too hard for me. :xmas:

Yes it is, but it is also takes alot out of you. I do spread it out over the weeks, but I have "regular" things to deal with too.
Totally agree :)

Last year we had to deal with my grandma being in the hospital for Christmas. So it was a miracle we got anything done.

Last year the only decorating I did was the tree because I got no help at all.
*and I only did that because my house is where the family gathers for Christmas dinner.*

My cousin and her husband determine where we have Christmas dinner. Her birthday is on Christmas Eve, but they alternate Christmas between here and Little Rock. If they come here (like this year) we go to her mom's house and we have to lug around the pots of gallina rellena . But next year it would be our house.

Last year we spent the Christmas vacation week in Punta Gorda helping rebuild a house that suffered severe damage from Hurricane Charley, so I had to do everything way ahead of time. We actually celebrated Christmas up here the week before with my in-laws, then Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with my mother and brother and his family in central FL, then on to my sister's in Bradenton,FL for yet another Christmas dinner!

Wow that's a lot of Christmas!

I didn't mean to sound like I don't like Christmas.
Once the shopping is done I really do enjoy it! :xmas:

It is a hectic time of year though!
