Signature Dining

Hello everyone, my husband and I are using the DDP when we go later this year - and we are going to visit probably 4 - 5 '2 credit' restaurants (partly so that we're not tied to a reservation every day). We've got our own favourites eg: Flying Fish, but wondered which ones you would visit - and why?

I have eaten at California Grill, Artist Point, Jiko and Flying Fish. I enjoyed all my meals there and found them to be far better than the "normal" restaurants at WDW. I really can't pick a favourite. I liked California Grill for the view, we went early and watched the sun go down. Artist Point was jut very relaxed and I love the WL. Jiko was something very special, dishes that yu can't get everywhere. One of the best meals I ever had was the maize-crusted fish with vegetables of the moment.

However, just to warn you: Eating at signature restaurants is not the best way to use the DDP credits financially.

Isn't it cheaper to pay out of pocket? If you allocate, say, $25 per day for your TS, then you're using $50 to pay for an entree and dessert. You'd have trouble getting those two items to add up to $50, even at the ritzy places. I'd advise checking menus online and see how the math works out.

I went to Jiko and thought it was very good.

Haven't been to others, but people seem to really love California Grill, Narcoosees, and Yachtsman Steakhouse

I'll put my vote/votes for Cali Grill, Citrico's, and Artist Pointe. We have to eat at these 3 on all trips. They are all tremendous in there own ways. Hope it helps.

We got the DDP free - lucky, lucky, lucky, so we don't need to make things add up, and can just eat when and where we like without thinking 'have we got a good deal' (cos we have:sohappy:). We did the same on our last visit, and because we're coming for 14 days we'll be visiting other places too, so won't need to eat onsite every day. We also found that we didn't always use our quick service every day, so can double up on those some days. SO signature dining here we come!!:animwink:

You can't go wrong with Disney's Signature Dining. Flying Fish is excellent and I had some of the best meals of my life at California Grille. Make sure you find out when the MK Wishes fireworks show is going to be so you can try to coordinate your reservation. People debate the Coral Reef but I've always had very good food there. Beware if you don't like crowds, however. I've also heard great things about Artist Point but have never been there personally.
