Shrimp Po' Boys?

I have been craving a GOOD Shrimp Po' Boy since I made our reservations for this year's trip in October. I know Fulton's, House of Blues, Restaurantaurus and Sassagoula Floatworks all have Shrimp Po' Boys. (Personally, if I were to go to Fulton's, I certainly wouldn't order a sandwich!) Has anyone had a Shrimp Po' Boy in Disney? What was your opinion? Any and all thoughts are very much appreciated!

If you want the real thing come to New Orleans, Louisiana where we have the real french bread. Bear's in Covington, La has the best and so many shrimp they fall off as you eat it. Sorry I can't imagine going to Disney to eat a po' boy.

I've had the House of Blues version, which was pretty good, although it is not on the new menu (http://www.wdwmagic.com/Dining/House-of-Blues/Menus/15Dec2011-House-of-Blues-menu.htm). The Restaurantaurus version was also fairly good, but being a counter service, not spectacular.

I know what you mean!! It's like me trying to eat Pizza or a Cheesesteak in Florida! However, Disney is as close as I can get at this point. A New Orleans visit is on my bucket list!!

Although Via Napoli at Epcot is some of the best Pizza I have had, and that is including some of the world famous locations in NYC.

I'm not sure how well it compares to other po' boys out there but I had one for lunch at POFQ back in September. When I ordered I had to wait 10 minutes while they made a fresh batch of shrimp, but that just made it that much tastier when I finally ate it:slurp:

Doesn't the bread get kinda stale by the time it gets to NOLA?

They must have had to thaw the shrimp out. Frying shrimp doesn't usually take that long. :lookaroun

I agree about Bear's though. Great place. A Po' Boy is all about the bread.

When I seen Shrimp Po' Boys on a Disney site, it definitely peaked my interest. I refuse to eat seafood anywhere other than local restaurants and when we make it at home. I am sorry but Louisiana seafood is just too good to me. I have to agree with the other Louisiana and Mississippi people. Can't beat good French Bread. Crisp on the outside and soft and warm in the center. Oh man guess I am going to the store and getting a hot one.

fried shrimp on french bread. In Louisiana, we serve ours "dressed". This means Mayo, Mustard, Lettuce, Tomato, and Pickles. I have gotten some really strange looks when I have ordered my sandwiches fully dressed. LOL

Ok what else is on a Po Boy, They sound delicous though:ROFLOL: Besides shrimp and french bread?

It it's purest form - nothing else. Fried shrimp and the correct bread.

As was said they can be "dressed" as well - lettuce, tomato, mayo (or variation thereof), pickles.

I prefer oysters or even better crayfish (or crawfish, or crawdads, or mudbugs, or whatever you want to call them)

The original Poboy is actually french fries with roast beef gravy on french bread. It was cheap and a lot of the working class would buy these when they first came out in the early 1900's.

They also do roast beef poboys as well. Those are super yummy.

we people in Louisiana can put anything on french bread and make it good. LOL

Check out this link. They have a menu. This is a convience store that sells really good poboys.
