I'm not sure whether I want to do away with them or not. Whilst I do agree that sometimes they can be confusing, and a few of them have me scratching my head for ages, I've been coming on here enough now for me to actually refer to Splash Mountain as SM and the parks are now MGM (will always be MGM to me!) MK, DAK and...Epcot :lookaroun.

Well..like I said in the other thread..I seriousluy doubt that everyone will want to start posting the whole word..and you really can not make someone do it.

There is a list that shows what they mean and once again..if you do not know what it means when you are reading a thread..ask what it means?

:)

Its gonna be the way it is. People who know them will use them, and others will type the whole word. I do both, but more of acronyms because I am used to them and its sorta just habit now. There are a few here and there that I still don't understand, but people are going to do what they want regardless, so we can't really say DO or DON'T use them.

No.
I don't always know what an acronymn stands for, but it's easy enough to ask.
Typing the short form is just quicker.

Type out the entire name if you want, it's up to you. I'll stick with the acronyms as they are quicker. There is a list you can reference when you have trouble (and by you I don't mean you personally ).

The names of the new attractions have gotten way too long. I don't mind typing Space Mountain, but there's no way I'm going to type out some of these 70 word names of attractions that we have lately.

Folks, this is a message board on the internet...you have just as good a chance of getting rid of ToT and DAK as you do LOL and IMO
Agreed. Every message board has it's own vernacular and acronyms. They are an unavoidable fact of internet life. You choices consist of learn them or stay confused. Just be thankful that leet speak is kept to a minimum on this board.

Brevity is easier. As with texting, the goal is effective communication with minimal effort. Disneyphiles will understand the abbreviations and others will catch on with time [and become Disneyphiles :D]. This site is populated by Disney-minded folk, who for the most part are motivated to learn the 'lingo'.
