Should we expect any major announcements regarding WDW at D23 expo next month?

Just wondering, since last time we got news on Fantasyland Expansion, HKDL and DCA. What has me worried is last time we knew about the stuff well before it hit D23 and it was almost made as a joke by Rasulo since he knew it was all over the internet beforehand, but we haven't really had any juicy rumors lately. Usually we have this stuff figured out well in advance, so maybe we aren't getting any news on new attractions this time?

Any of our resident insiders want to spill the beans? :D

Yes.
There will be announcements aplenty.

That's not to say that all of that which is announced will ever be built....

WooHoo!! I just hope that we aren't counting upcoming meet-n-greet experiences as real announcements... :p

I am hoping there is something to blow our socks off this year.

Disney has been pretty good about going through with something after announcing it this past decade. I know back in the 80s Disney made a lot of promises that never saw the light of day but that is why they stoped doing preview centers and have made fewer announcements.

The only really big change that was made after announcement was girly version of Fantasyland but that was changed because it was universally paned. I can't think of a single thing other than that that was announced in the 2000s that Disney didnt go through with.

The Pleasure Island/Hyperion Wharf conversion might be a case of announced but never happened, though it's probably still too soon to tell.

Will we be able to tell soon after the announcement which will be built and which won't? I don't want to get my hopes up too high...

Excitement tempered with skepticism would be the way to go.

I realize someone in your position is unable to go into specifics, but do you have a good idea what announcements are coming, and what will or will not be built?

So when they announce -

- New MI coaster for DHS
- New country for WS
- New continent at AK
- And new paint on the queue for Tomorrowland Speedway

We should keep our eyes open for wet paint signs. :lookaroun
