Should there be a statue for Roy E. Disney too?

With threads about both Walt's and Roy O.'s statues, I got to thinking- shouldn't Roy E. have one as well? Granted, his main influence to the company was via the boardroom and the animation department, but I still feel he should be acknowledged in the parks for his contributions to the company. Maybe partner him up with Donald, since he was in Fantasia 2000, and that film was Roy's baby.

Absolutely not in a theme park. He perpetuated the idea that has consumed Disney that themed entertainment is an inferior creative medium, one that should only follow the work of other mediums.

That is Roy O. Disney, Walt's brother and Chief Financial Officer for the Walt Disney Company while Walt was alive. Roy E. Disney is the son of that man and Walt's nephew.
Actually, Roy O. was the CEO of the Company from its founding until his death in 1971. He was Aldo originally vice chairman and then Chairman when Walt gave that up.

No, I don't think Roy E should have a statue. Walt gets his because of his creation, with his brother Roy O, of the Disney Brothers Cartoon studios which became the Walt Disney company and all the things that followed. Roy O gets his for the same thing and seeing the Magic Kingdom to reality. In other words, the statues are for the two guys who were responsible for founding the company and creating the magic. Roy E cannot claim that level of importance and the statues should be kept special for only that level. Roy E has his window like other executives who played central roles in operating and maintaining the legacy and that's where he belongs.

While not a statue, Roy E. has a window on Main Street above the Crystal Arts shop.

And that should be sufficient. He had nothing to do with the founding of the company. His talents were limited and, although, he was instrumental in a couple of major changes in the company management (mainly Eisner in and then later, Eisner out) it was the family name that gave him that influence, not his direct contributions. So, no statute for him, I'm afraid.

I agree...After reading the book "Remembering Roy E. Disney" I learned more about his warmth, kindness and philanthropic dealings as well as relationships inside and outside the Disney corporation. He was a humble, caring, giving person and did well for Disney at times but in no way deserves the recognition Walt & Roy O. deserved. Window recognition should be the limit for his recognition in the parks.
