To me Walt and Roy O. are the ones that are responsible for building the base of what we enjoy today. They deserve statues. Others can be honored with windows.

I posted a thread about the following idea a few years ago. The partners statue should be moved outside of the park and have Walt face the MK, pointing in to the entrance. It makes a hell of a lot more sense this way. He is directing people inside. If it was a living image of him, he is also showing Mickey the future location of a theme park modeled after DL. Have that area of the hub finally completely open. Roy O's statue is ok where it is.

Are you all serious???:jawdrop: No one of you guys know that Roy actualy already have a statue named ''Sharing the magic'' in the MK?:banghead:

The ''plaque'' at the base of the statue

Like the ''Partners'' Statue of Walt and Mickey ''Sharing the Magic'' was sculpted by Blaine Gibson.

And I think Roy has all the right to be there... I mean, HE build the park after Walt's death.

That's Roy O. The OP asked about Roy E (his son)

Actually read the thread and then become disgusted with yourself instead of everyone else.

Not even read the thread. Just the title! Especially since they posted a pic of the plaque that says "Roy O Disney" and the thread title says "Roy E Disney".

I'd say no. Why not build one for Michael Eisner, Tom Staggs, Bob Iger, Meg Crofton etc, we could fill the parks with them. In fact all of them have more of a claim to a statue in a theme park than Roy E does.

Why not Diane and Sharon? They had more of a direct impact on at least one park by selling Retlaw's Disneyland attractions. That's more involvement than Roy E. had with the parks.

Ok now I look stupid!!:arghh:
In my defense I'm not familiar with those middle name, this is not usual in french. My bad.

So to respond to the real question, No I don't think Roy E. Disney sould have a statue. He did great thing for the company, but he was not a visionaire like Walt or Roy O.

Posts like this make me wish for a Disney Jeopardy contest between you and @marni1971
It would be legendary :jawdrop:

LOL. Martin would win hands-down.

While I have a decent memory recall and know a lot of minutae that I've been exposed to, I'm closer to my roots as a librarian whereby I know where to find information, and how to find it quickly, rather than knowing everything off the top of my head. :)
