Should Disney offer " Frequent Guest" Perks?

Ok, my family and I have been going to Disney for over 25 years straight. Maybe some 30-35 trips. Now I know there are probably some out there who have even gone more but my DW and I frequently say jokingly that disney should reward those of us that keep going back again and again. BUT you know what maybe they should. A gesture of thanx to those of us who frequent WDW regularly. Fast passes to rides

Room uprgrades

Hec...how about Grand Marshalls of parade. I love seeing people who are probably on their first Disney trip picked as Marshalls. My DW and I say, hec weve been here for 25 years..how bout us!! AND they do know how many times you have been there because we have gotten welcomes for our trip noteing this is your x amount trip to Disney thank you.

What do you Disney Regulars think?

I think so. Why not?

Also, TDO needs to provide more benefits for Florida residents... like a discount that's actually a good cut above the discount anyone can get =/

As much as I would like to see something like this, why? And where do you draw the line? Total number of trips, number of park days? And how do you prove it? What if they made an earlier trip under a different name, or stayed offsite? Its a logistical nightmare.
If a local happens to visit every day after work, does that mean that after a while they get all the perks? And how can Disney say that Johnny who visits 5 times a year is better than Susy who is on her first trip? It creates an obvious inequality that I don't think they want to get into. And it will seriously create a sense of entitlement. Disney tries to keep most people on the same level playing ground for all external appearances. Any perks/benefits they do offer are either kept quiet except for those who are eligible, or anyone can do it, they just need to know how.

I keep begging my local barkeep to offer the same. And keep getting turned down in kind. His response is that if he did it for me, then everyone who frequents on occasion would expect it.....

with that thought, dreamfinder, why do special pricing for FL residents or Military?

Personally, I think there should be perks for repeat visitors. Even if you book under someone else, everyone's name is still required for room ressies. And the difference between Joe from outta town and Joe in town is that Joe in town isn't using the hotels. A small "gift" system would work great! Maybe after 25 visits, you get a small mickey plush. When you hit 30, you get a small gift basket. After 50, you get a gold colored KttW every visit after with a collectible pin that says something about 50 trips. etc etc etc

I think they should offer a lifetime pass with really good discounts

A lifetime pass with perks (maybe restaraunt perks etc)...how much do you think that would cost if for some reason it became reality? ...I would think it would at least be in the $10,000.00 range

Agree, some FL Resident discounts aren't much cheaper... I visit Disney at least a dozen times a year, whether it's the main parks, water parks, or other things associated to Disney. We always stay at hotel's on Disney grounds.. so it would be nice to get a greater discount at times.

Aren't the 'bounce back' offers aimed specifically at frequent guests? And it seems like when I am about due for a trip a PIN code shows up in my mailbox. Sure some sort of frequent-guest perk would be nice, but Im fairly happy with what I get already.

Ive been to Disney over 50x. I've never gotten a PIN code.

Bounceback offers are there for any guest staying on WDW property....

As for the pin codes, register at the WDW website, you'll start receiving them soon enough........

The discounts they offer are usually based on hotel rooms.

I'm amongst those that feel everyone should be treated equally one they walk through a theme park gates. Granted, there are celebs and "a-listers" who, for better or worse, get extra perks. But I'd rather see as little of that as possible. Give frequent visitors pin codes for discounts, or discount cards for merch, but when it comes to Fastpasses or line cutting privileges, I'd rather not see that happen.

PS - And while discounted tiks from disney would be nice, frequent guests probably already know how to get discounted tickets. If you 'know' you will be returning, the 10-day non-expire park hoppers from Undercover Tourist can be a good deal.

I think there should definitely be a rewards program along the lines of what some of the airlines offer ... but I highly doubt the will ever do it. :D

Here is what I posted in another thread yesterday about bouncebacks:
When we were there in April, there was a bounceback offer, but it had to be booked before we checked out. That was my understanding of how bouncebacks worked...that it is not an offer that you get after you get back home, but rather, an offer that you get before you leave your current trip.

Having said that, I seem to notice that Disney is constantly giving discounts lately, so, for all practical purposes, you'll probably get a de facto "bounceback" discount. For example, when we were there in
April, the bounceback offer was for a percentage off on the room (25% for values, 30% for moderates and 35% for Deluxes, or something close to that). I was initially told that I could book the bounceback code for a ficitious stay while waiting for 2011 rates to come out in August. Then, in August when I change the dates over to our 2011 dates, the bounceback code would still hold and I would get the discount. I later found out that I was given incorrect information and that bounceback codes are only good for select dates in the current calendar year. So I downgraded from the Wilderness Lodge (where I wanted to stay if I could get the bounceback), to Carribbean Beach. But sure enough, a round of discounts came out later, but none of them included the dates we are going (April). But then a little while later, more discounts came out, which DID include our dates, and it was essentially the exact same discount that I initially booked under, so I then upgraded back to the Wilderness Lodge.

So the moral of my story is that it seems like Disney is constantly "discounting" their rooms. In my perception, it's kind of like these business that raise their prices, only to lower them back down so they can say their stuff is "on sale". Disney releases their prices for the year in August, but then they are constantly giving these discounts so that no matter when you go (except certain uber busy times of the year), you're paying less than the official advertised room rate. While I certainly don't complain about paying the cheaper price, I can't help finding the practice somewhat dishonest, even though I know it is common business practice.

So I guess what I am trying to tell you is that if recent practices are any indicator, I can almost guarantee you that you will end up seeing some kind of a discount for whatever your travel dates are (unless you're going Easter Week, Christmas week, or some other peak holiday time), and that said discount will be pretty much identical to whatever bounceback offer you're missing out on.

But I do think it would be nice if Disney gave some kind of incentive to repeat guests. It's a common thing that many businesses do. Many stores have a punchcard that you get punched or stamped each time you come in and spend a certain amount, then after you get so many stamps, you get a certain amount off of your next purchase. Restaraunts do things like that, as in get a free meal, free drink, free appetizer, etc, if you get your card punched enough times. Why not Disney? It doesn't have to be anything extraordinarily grand, like free week's lodging or anything. But maybe a free meal at a restaraunt, or something like that.
