Shooting the Breeze with our Magic Friends

Mike and I joke that in our development, we live on the 80's side :lol:, just over the hill are where all the 'richies' live. Still, that's a relative term in our town...housing is fairly inexpensive.

So the skunks just pass on by these days, but I saw fat raccoon just sitting out by our shed the other day...bold as brass in daylight. I went outside and hissed at it and it crawled under our shed. Crud. What is it about our property that it attracts all the friggin' wildlife? :hammer:
:ROFLOL::shrug:
What that is funny.

Sorry.

Yeah, well they need to head down to my SIL's house - she has deer that come into her yard that she feeds every evening. :rolleyes:
The one racoon that I ran across ate my ham.:cry: We were camping and the ham was in the ice chest. The racoon opened the ice chest and got into my ham. A freshly cooked spiral cooked ham.:cry:

Oh, I would've been so ticked.
We were talking about the last night, and brought up the time we were down at my folks for a cookout. A bunch of us were sitting on the back deck and this just jumped up, in broad daylight, on the deck. You ought've seen us getting outta there! That animal was definitely acting wrong - they're not that brazen, they prefer to act when no one's around. We figured it was sick...it just wasn't acting right. So my brother had to take care of it. :(

When we first got internet I was called raccoontale. The recoon that got into the ice chest was okay (that I know about) We just didn't put the ice chest so wild life couldn't get to it. :hammer::brick:

Lesson learned, then. :lol: I would like to camp with the kids, but Joel becomes especially difficult in the heat and humidity (as we learned last June in FL). So we could never 'rough it'. Need our A/C :lol:

I must admit, when we were looking into staying at Ft Wilderness, I thought about buying camping equipment. I was more uncertain about Joel wondering off when my back was turned. I'd like to think he's improving some....he does seem to have enough awareness of his surroundings to be careful...moreso than when he was younger.
Anyway, I did some internet looking at supplies....I would need an airbed to make camping viable...and a site w/ electricity so we could run a portable A/C or fans. I'd like to think someday we could try it. :shrug:

I can understand about Joel. Camping is tough but fun also.

Y'all are freaks...why would you deliberately camp? :shrug:

We saw two big raccoons in my mom's yard on New Year's Day. You should of seen the menfolk...they're all like : "That's not right. They must be sick. Maybe we should get the guns" and so on. Here's my reaction: "Oh, how cute! here babies, psst psst psst". Yes, I can occasionally act less than brilliant.

Good evening. I had a really fun day, but now I'm home and I have to write an ESSAY and I'm NOT happy about it. Boo. I'm exhausted.
