Shark Reef to close at Typhoon Lagoon

Not surprising given that there was speculation on if it would be remaining open at all.

Still, could be a sign that Disney plans to eventually do away with it.

This is the first step to closed. Reduced hours -> seasonal operation -> gone

If they wanted to close it, they would. The hours are most certainly due to demand.

We go every trip. Kids really look forward to swimming with the "sharks". Hope this is just a weather induced phenomena.

This rumour has come back again on another site. As they are "expanding" Typhoon Lagoon with a new raft ride, they will also close the expensive to maintain shark reef.

We greatly enjoyed this, A year and a half later, my daughter still mentions this as a top highlight of that trip. If they gid rid of this SeaWorld should pounce on this as an upcharge attraction.

Isn't the swim with fish upcharge attraction just Discovery Cove ;-)

Any insiders sure of this? We'll be there in a few weeks but hadn't planned to go to the water park. Might change our mind.

That park is just so darn costly to run. All those lifeguards, all those filters and chemicals to treat the water, and don't even get me started on the landscaping. They should just shut it down.

Holy cow, a bus driver was right for the first time ever... My roommate was told this by a driver on her visit last month.
