Shanghai park

1.5 square kilometers. Not too close right? :p

No no no, that doesn't make sense. 1.5 square kilometers is an area, not a distance. The park is going to be 1.5 square kilometers. The article doesn't specify how far from the airport it's going to be and I was wondering if anyone here knew.

If I'm wrong and the park really IS 1.5 kilometers from the airport... that's going to be rather inconvenient for, uhm, everything.

Looking at some of the info I reckon the park will be built around the marker on the google maps link below.

Can't wait to hear and see bits and pieces about this in the future. I find it very exciting to see and hear how these parks are being put together.

From what I hear, the Shanghai park will be VERY nice, and very built-out at opening.

Glad to hear that. I wonder where the Haunted Mansion will be in this one...

^This sentence just makes me think "You know you are a Disney geek when..."

Hong Kong I never understood. Shanghai I get. 25 million immediate population. Burgeoning middle class. It's the future Tokyo. But I think it's less about direct profit and more about exposure within the country. Disney isn't really on the hook at either resort given the financial arrangements. It's the giant foot in the door that matters to them.
