Trip Report Shanghai (K)nights (and days) - A Max Trip Report - COMPLETE

Hello to All
Welcome to my Trip Report to Japan and China!!
06496314-22C7-45A5-9126-A94BE927D5DB.jpeg

As per previous trips to the Orient this is a business trip with a few leisure detours along the way

The trip was from Nov 16 - Dec 9

It will include a visit of Shanghai Disneyland, and two weekend adventures to Hiroshima and Osaka.

I hope you enjoy the ride as much as I did.

Max

PS
I am really struggling with my pictures for this TR. (this is one of many reasons why it has taken my so long to start it)
All pictures are from my iPhone 7 and my work phone (also a 7)
Every since I updated my iOS I cannot extract pictures from it.
I am trying to email them to myself and they are too big to download.
If anyone has advice please send it.

Wow that queen of hearts guard is amazing!
You caught my post as I was trying to add to it.

With my iphone issue I have to upload from the phone first and then edit/add text on my laptop.

And yes I agree , the entire maze including the guards is very well done!

Day 2 cont’d

After exiting the maze I walked up (the ramp) toward the back of the Castle (and yes it was cold enough to have the hood on)

I did not do the walking tour inside the castle (a regret for sure)

In the distance you can see the loading area for the Voyage of the Crystal Grotto (boat ride into the castle)

just don't understand that...
i mean, i do, but i really don't.
:(

thanks again for all your pix, max!
I have not discussed Pirates yet but it is the same situation

POC at SDL is completely based on the recent movies (Cptn Sparrow, etc).

It seems that SDL was built and opened in 2016 and they are using the latest version of things ( Alice, Pirates, etc)

These mosaics are fabulous! I wish I could have some of those, especially the Tangled one, in my house!

The mosaics are amazing! The Maze does look awesome too even though I am much more a fan of the classic AiW I can see how the Tim Burton look works here. I still can't stand the big headed queen of hearts though

Thank you for joining in!

I agree people stepping in front of you for FW is annoying and disrespectful.
In my case I think it was worse.
It was a defined line , with ropes, and we were progressing forward in a normal fashion up to that point.
I simply did not move forward one time and the person behind me thought it was okay to pass me.
Again - I get it - it is cultural - this is how they normally do this sort of thing.
It just is not how I show respect for other people.

I had never thought of that one but I get that it looks like something you would expect to actually see outside of Disney.
@Kiwiduck said it best in a previous post

We had that happen in DLP...people who passed us when we had to stop for some reason...I think to put something in a backpack or something, and then not only did the people pass us, but then they let people in join them later on in the line who had been somewhere else. So instead of 2 people cutting in front of us, it ended up being 6 people. And it happened multiple times....apparently it's the norm.

Just to clarify a week or two to do all 6 resorts or a week or two at each resort?
If it is the later I think you might need a lottery win!!

best resort!
:p
Nice!!!
Leaf Me Be is an AWESOME name for a tea shop!!
The hidden gems of Disney can be found all around the world!!
Nice catch - I had not noticed it yet!!
Those mosaics in the castle :inlove:
Very classy - well done
I'm not the biggest fan of the newer AiW movies, but still the fangirl in me would've loved that AiW themed maze
I am in the same boat as you on this one. I enjoyed walking through but my attachement to this version is not as strong

That 2nd picture in particular is aMAZE-ing! Really, that is sharp
You are such a punny person!!
These mosaics are fabulous! I wish I could have some of those, especially the Tangled one, in my house!
As Roy Scheider said - "We are gonna need a bigger (house)boat!!"

Yeah, the big headed queen thing is a little over the top - typical Burton though

I did not notice in in my one trip to DLP in 2011 but I trust you that it is actually happening in Paris and Shanghai.
Sad in my book

Day 2 cont’d Parade time
People were lining up along the parade route.
First off was a pre parade to celebrate Mickey's Birthday (Nov 18)

This group was dancing and having fun with their little Mickey stuffies

The parade route was 4 deep near the castle so I walked further along and eventually found a better spot to take pictures of
