With word of a new Sesame Street movie being made, it got me thinking of how cool (or uncool) having Sesame Street in the parks would be along with The Muppets.
Eventhough they are part of the Jim Henson family, Disney doesn't have the rights to them , and its highly unlikely they would get them in the near future.

But how would you feel if they were able to do it; do you think Sesame Street would be a good fit for Disney and whic do you like better, them or the Muppets???

Children's Television Workshop owns the Sesame Street Characters...
They have there own park called Sesame Place in Langhorne, PA http://www.sesameplace.com/sesame2/
They are also in the Sea World and Busch Gardens Parks as Well..

And besides Henson has other ways with Disney to appeal with kids....A perfect example..

And to be honest the "ONLY" Sesame Street film that worked...is Follow That Bird...This new film just better not deal with friggin Abby or Elmo...Sheesh!

Muppets all the way. There were no really fun girl characters on Sesame except for Prairie Dawn (there might have been another girl human type puppet but I don't remember her name). The Muppets had Piggy. And really when I was little, it was all about Piggy. And the silver and lilac Big Wheels that was supposed to be her 'motocycle' from the Great Muppet Caper. Or at least that's what I always thought it was a take off of.

There are some cute Sesame characters, like Grover, but poor thing's been pushed aside for Elmo. And Cookie's been put on a diet.

In addition to Sesame Place, Busch Gardens Williamsburg has a Sesame Street themed land so I doubt if it would ever come to WDW. Wr just came back from Busch Gardens, and the Sesame Street area was fabulous. My girls could have stayed there all day long. It would be fun if they did something similar with the Muppets.

I loved Sesame Street back in the day...I've watched it quite recently and nearly threw up. So much less usage of the classic characters, far less with puppets, and way more cgi, cartoons, and claymation. Oh, and it's basically all about Elmo, Zoe, and Abby Cadabby now.

Such a far cry from the awesome show it once was.

Muppets all the way. Hands down.

Hard to compare since they are very different in content. The Muppets are all about entertainment. Sesame Street tries to educate. (I believe the phrase is edutainment).

Definitely Muppets. The Muppets are an all-age entertainment. I know adults today that still love watching the Muppet Show and many would watch it just to watch it, meaning without kids around. I don't think it's the same with Sesame Street. The Muppets have a sort of edge with characters like Statler and Waldorf, does Sesame have an equivalent of those characters? It's been a long time since I've seen Sesame Street so maybe I forgot some things.

The Muppets animated show was great as a kid, and I really liked the movie. Plus, I love the attraction in WDW. Add it up, and it's just enough to top the beloved PBS franchise.

First off, I want to say that I love the avatar you're using. :p

Anyway, I watched Sesame Street the other morning for the first time in probably over a decade, and I thought the show was still as entertaining and adorable as ever, maybe even a little more so than it was before. The episode I was watching in particular primarily featured Big Bird (he broke his wing while rollerblading), with Elmo and Zoe off to the wayside. It also featured The Count quite a bit, too.

I personally thought Abby's Flying Faerie School was adorable, and thought the animation they used during the short was astoundingly well done; it was definitely a lot better than other computer-animated children's shows that are on Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, or even The Disney Channel. I briefly thought they were using actual puppets on a blue screen, to be quite honest. o_O
