Service has gone down.

Yes
. Most look like they couldn’t be bothered. Cms were not as present as they used to be and when I did ask a few questions they couldn’t give me answers. My husband is in the service industry & he noticed it too. I was disappointed. Nothing that specifically affected us like I said just something I noticed.

So nothing specifically affected you but you as a self-identified service industry expert (in the company of another expert) identified that "Service had gone down"

WDW has over 70k employees. Some are great and some not so much. Some may also behave differently around certain guests/times.

Over my last trip CMs were almost always helpful, including some who went above and beyond, but there were two HM CMs who at park close clearly did not give a **** on Oct 2. They chatted with each other during the stretching room (after one stood in the way of the door closing), one was checking her phone during the ride (easy to see during the seance) and they were clearly more than ready to be done their shift.
Exactly. I experienced both. My post was because on my last trips I had never experienced the latter & this time I did... enough times to notice.

I stand by that cult comment also since I can think of no other word to describe most of these reactions. I don’t need anyone to accept my opinion. My original post asked if anyone else felt the same way. There was no need for the attacks on me personally which is what I got.
No one likes getting attitude for an opinion. I get that, although looking back through this thread I don't really see anybody being rude to you. I think people mostly just have an issue with how minor the customer service issue seems with your description (and someone correct me if I'm wrong on that). CMs aren't knowledgeable enough, ok, I've experienced that and it is frustrating. But CMs not being "present" or friendly enough....well, it's a big park. Theres a lot of employees, and Disney can't make sure every single one is pumped and happy to be there every day (or can at least fake it).

Sorry is reading not critical here? I never said I was in the industry. My husband is & my son. My point being that they noticed & they are in that industry. And again no nothing specifically affected me, I still had a great time but the decline in service was noticeable. I had a hard time finding a cms when before I didn’t & the questions I asked of them were mostly not answered. As I said I was surprised an Epcot cm wouldn’t know the location of the illuminations fp area.

Yes they were rude. Being called entitled is not rude to you? Among the other things said to me. Maybe go back & reread then. I agree with you on the last part but my observations is that these are things I had never encountered before.

Or... we didn’t experience what you experienced. Is that not possible in your mind?
Yes it’s possible. Is it possible in your mind that I experienced different. Is it also possible that you have Disney colored glasses? Judging from the rest of your comments... I’d say yes to that too.

First question: yes. But why should I care and why do you feel the need to announce it? Second question: no. I call them as I see them.

Never said that. Never assumed that. Could it be that other people didn’t experience what I experienced? Yes. But it could also be that the enamored folks in this forum willingly ignore what I experienced also.

Free advice. Advice I tend to not take. Don’t engage those two. They are, at best Disney apologists, at worst, mental patients. Better to just ignore them.

We're not ignoring what you experienced, we're confused about the problem with your experience. You said you still had a good time, right? If I'm thinking of another poster please correct me, these all tend to run together after awhile. You're going to run in to some less than stellar employees, but as long as most of them are good there isn't a problem.

I think a lot of this boils down to perspective and expectations as well.

Yes I had a great time. If you read my original comment it was about me noticing a decline in service gathered from my current experience & my past experiences at Disney World. It was just an observation my family & I had & so I asked if anyone else had experienced the same.
